MINI Connected and iOS 7

So..I just picked up my 2014 CM last night and LOVE LOVE it.

I ordered it with MINI Connected as I was looking for iPod integration and album art.

I (stupidly) upgraded to iOS 7 when it came out.

Does anyone know if MINI Connected and iOS 7 are compatible?

My MA couldn't get my iPhone to stream bluetooth through MINI Connected and I'm not having any better luck.

I also cannot get the "Plug In" feature to work. I keep getting the message "No Supported Devices Found".

This is really disappointing. I know it's not MINI's fault and I should NEVER have upgrade to 7. Ugh.

I'm hoping someone has had luck getting bluetooth and the Plug-In features to work??

Hi,

What phone do you have? I have a 5 and 5s both on iOS 7 and it works with bluetooth fine. The steering wheel controls have stopped working intermittently but a restart of the phone fixes it.

I have no idea about the plugin feature. I used it once on my iPhone 4s and never tried again. I haven't bought the dock connector adapter for iPhone 5 yet, so I can't really check that out.

Getting bluetooth going was always frustrating. Remember there are a couple places when adding bluetooth that you have to check bluetooth audio.

I'll be glad to help if you report back with more details or some pics.

Jeff

I picked up my CM last Friday and had the identical problem. After searching the forums there is a simple solution.

According to the Mini Connected App it states that Y cable required is 61 12 2 179623 not what they provided me 61 12 2 338491. After scouring forums it looks like the one I have is for sound ONLY (it has a rectangular connector). I posted photos of the Y looking one is the connector I need not the rectangular one. I asked my MA for the correct one. The dealer sent me the correct Y connector 61 12 2 344 300 and it worked! I posted pictures of these at the following post. Iphone 5 with 7.02 works now with Mini Connect.

Thank you for the replies!

I'm not sure that the connector is the issue since I have an iPhone 4S.

It's weird that the bluetooth won't work either.

Running the updated software on my 4s and have had no issues via the cradle or the official mini Y cable...

I got it to work! Turns out I was given the wrong adapter when I picked up the car.

I have an iPhone 5 and I can't get the mini connect to work using the cord nor can I stream Bluetooth. Just tells me no device found and in Bluetooth streaming audio it shows a phone but won't play. Any one can help?

My mini connect cord is like the first post #61 12 2 338 491 and I take it this is the wrong one?

Thanks for any help

If your adapter/connector has a rectangular looking piece at the point where the wires meet it is the wrong one. The juncture should look like a "Y".

If you visit this link and read the thread you'll see a picture of the incorrect cable and a picture of the correct one.

Let us know how it goes! Good luck.

Getting Bluetooth to work was quite an ordeal actually. I ended up resetting all settings on my iPhone and deleting it from MINI Connected. I also removed ALL previous items that my iPhone was trying to pair with (my older/traded-in car and a boombox). I then repaired it and it worked.

I think it just needed a reboot of sorts.

Thank you for the connector info! I just picked up my 2014 Countryman S ALL4 the other day and was wrestling with MINI Connected and the rectangular connector (same as my old 2009 Clubman). Had the dealer swap it for the Y connector and all is well (except for the Plug In feature of course).

I too just purchased a 2014 Countryman and can confirm that the Y-cable part #61122179623 which came with the car works with the iPhone 4 as well as with the iPhone 5 when using a Lightning to 30-pin adapter purchased from Apple. I recommend purchasing the Apple adapter with the 0.2m (~7 inch) cable which fits into the phone easier when using a case. Others have reported that the new MINI Y-cable part #61122344300 has a lightning connector designed for the iPhone 5, however this part is on backorder at my local dealer.

Not only is it backordered, the people that were able to get a hold of the new lightning cable have had no success getting it working with their Mini.
