R60 Pikes Peak
Pikes Peak
Posted not too long ago about a trip to Moab, another option is Colorado, definitely taking All4 out west soon and was also considering checking out Pikes Peak. Seen allot of Colorado ALL4 folks here anyone had theirs up there, shame its all paved now I hear, still got to be a fun drive.
I have yet to take mine up. And yes, it's a shame about the paving. I have been big into off roading for the past 10 years or so. The best places to see in CO can't be found on a paved road!
I miss my Jeep(s)!

A week ago today I took my Clubby S up Pikes peak.
A bright cold & windy summit. The views were fantastic!
The clubby had no problem and made the trip easy in comparison with my Jeep.
However the story would have been probably different had there been snow on up there. The only problem was the day trippers who were crawling up the hill and it was more about the view than the drive... These Minis like the road and to be driven!.. Recommend to anyone for a day out and you can get a bite to eat and refreshment at the top before the fun trip down.

If you're in the Springs you could always try Gold Camp Road. I haven't been on that road in years now but I highly doubt it'll ever see a paving truck. Or guard rails for that matter. It's a beautiful drive if you take it all the way to Cripple Creek / Victor.
The bonus to that trip is making a pit stop at Helen Hunt Falls on the way to the start of Gold Camp Road. The less flashy, more serene (and free...) sister to neighboring Seven Falls. Make sure to stop at Starsmore Discovery Center on the way up to the falls. I worked there one summer during college and love that place.
Colorado native transplanted to the east coast 12 years ago now. I miss it every day!

if it is not motorhome season, the drive from twin lakes over independance pass to aspen is wonderful
also the "millon dollar highway" from montrose to durango
i drove pikes peak on my motocycle before it was paved to the top and several times since paving ... great ride and the views on a clear day are spectacular

Thanks! I will! Her ship should be in by Thursday so she should be at the dealer by next week. So, I guess I might have her by the weekend after next! I'll post pics as soon as I can after that
