R60 Stubby Antenna
Stubby Antenna
Hey guys, I know this has been mentioned a few times in different threads, but I wanted to get a general consensus as to what everyone else has bought.
I'm thinking about getting the stubby from gobadges.com mainly because I can get a carbon fiber blackjack stubby. It's priced at $24.99.
What has everyone else paid and do you know if there are other carbon fiber stubby's out there? Just curious what everyone else is getting and happy with.

I just ordered the Go Badges w/ black jack! I have yet to receive it, so I can not comment on build quality. My second choice was going to be the one from Helix.
Go Badges is the only one I could find that had the cardon fiber look to it in my searches.

I just now found these: http://www.aptuned.com/antenna-ACC-016
And there are different colors. Hard to know if that blue would match Surf Blue.
I know someone else mentioned a carbon fiber stubby, but I don't remember from where.

In general, longer screw-in antennas gather more signal strength and have less noise. Shorter antennas provide less for the receiver to work with.
Of course, style trumps utility.

I hope you know that antennas are actually engineered to match impedance and are designed to work with certain frequency (wavelength) ranges. The FM and AM reception would depend on the antenna that sticks up out of the module on the roof. The satellite antenna is flat and is built into the module on the roof the tall antenna screws into.
