R60 In Production!
Ours went from "on order" to "in production" over the weekend. The order details were not listed on Friday, but when we checked them on Saturday they were there and we found an error and fired an email off to our MA to have it corrected only to get an instant reply that the car has already gone to production and no changes can be made
Still hoping to get in the promised 8 week + time frame. Ordered Dec 20th.

I ordered my on 01.13.2012 and just received the email this morning from my Mini Sales Person. The status in the Lounge still says "Ordered". From reading the comments it sounds like it may take a few days for it to change online. Good luck with yours!
ps: how do you guys get that gear designation after your name?
Thanks,
garmjoe

Interior Trim...wanted the Black checkered console trim/black door trim
showed up in the detail as dark silver!
Not a big difference, but was trying for something not seen often......... on the plus side all the trim will be the same.

That didn't take long
Well after changing status over the weekend in the owners lounge from "on order" to "in production", today we get an email from our MA that says our car is finished and awaiting shipment
Something tells me the owners lounge is waaaay behind reality, but our MINI is closer than we thought

The OL seems to be behind for most people on this forum and it was for me as well.
Your next step will be to check the WW site incessantly to see if your CM made the next ship, and chances are that the WW site will not update for at least 24 to 48 hours. The worse that can happen is that your CM is on a different shipping line than WW because then you will not know for sure. You will then be checking Marinetraffic.com at regular intervals to see if your ship is back in range. If you have to cross the Panama Canal, you may even stay up and watch the ship cross the locks. Regardless, once your CM lands on shore you will not be able to track anything online so you will go completely out of your mind due to feeling completely out of the loop. The best drug for this condition is a responsive MA who will let you know when your CM should be at the dealership.
All of these symptoms are temporary and you will be completely cured within minutes of getting behind the wheel of your shiny new special ordered CM.

Soon you'll be frantically tracking a little dot, as it crosses the Pond.
Yes, usually Ask Mini is more up to to date. OL has had my car 'awaiting transport' for 5 or 6 days now, but several days ago Ask Mini said 'en route to port', and today says 'Arrived at port'.
Just a quick update from my original post about receiving an email from my MA that my car was now "in production".....it's been updated in the Mini Owner's Lounge and assigned a VIN! Cool!
Yeah, mine has been about the same! I ordered mine on 01/12 and it went into production on 01/23 but the OL wasn't updated until this morning with a VIN and all! Yay!
Mine went into production a week ago, already have my VIN from my MA, but the OL still says on order. How far behind is the OL and what is its purpose if it doesn't update in a timely fashion. I like the idea of the OL tracking, but with the way that it actually functions, it is almost worse to have access to it.
You need to do this. On mini is on the boat and should be here in four days and OL still says waiting.
1-866-ASK-MINI (1-866-275-6464): (Production Status and Dates)
ASK-MINI is a live support center setup by MINIUSA to handle all of your calls and inquiries related to your MINI order. ASK-MINI is your best bet for information related to the current status of your order from about two weeks after you order until the day it leaves the factory in Oxford. This system is divided into two main interfaces:
-Automated: The automated system is okay for when you need your fix and it is outside the hours ASK MINI is open (9am to 9pm EST). However the automated system is not much better than the information found on the Owner’s Lounge.
-Customer Relations: Real live people, and incredibly friendly / helpful ones at that! I strongly encourage you to skip the automated piece and ask directly for Customer Relations. If you supply them with your Production Number, they’ll be able to tell you your current status and anything they might know about the future of your MINI. They are the first resource that will be able to tell you final information for your production and completion dates and can also tell you at what stage of production your MINI is in (assembly painting, final quality check, etc.)
Not all ASK-MINI Customer Relations reps are created equal, sometimes you will get one who does not know the system entirely or is unfamiliar with the process, sometimes you will get incredibly personable and highly informative reps. Call back multiple times to ensure the information you’ve been given matches with what other reps tell you.
