I recently noticed that the water pump was making a screeching sound when the vehicle was not in movement (idle or sitting at a red light).* I took it to the Mini dealership and they initially thought it was just the belt making that sound.* Well after about 35 minutes of me waiting the service manager said that it seems that the water pump was the culprit and that it was being replaced.* Anyone else had this issue?* My car is a 2012 R60 S All4 with 1,100 miles on the clock.

 

My countryman sometimes has a squeeking sound after i turn it off and somthing is still working in the motor. im not sure what it is, i assume its the electric water pump cooling the turbo. i have a 2012 also and thought the water pump recall only applied to pre-2012 models . did they tell you that is was a recalled part?

 

Well mine only did it when the car was on and it was the water pump for the motor, not the electric one so it wasn't a recall.
