weird sound

I'm 3 days in on my new countryman S, and I've noticed an odd sound. Wondering if anyone has noticed it.

When I'm sitting in the car, and it's idling, I hear a very soft 'shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh' sound coming from the back of the car. Almost like white noise from a radio.

Anyone familiar with this?

Thanks!

Yea, I just got mine today, and while I was inside the car, NOT running, and I heard it. Weird......though it might be coming from the speakers maybe????

well that's interesting. I don't think I've heard it while not running.

It's a mystery! I gotta know what causes it!

I forgot to say, that I think I was "powered up", programming the radio/Sat or something when I was hearing it. But the engine was not running at the time.......so that made me thinks it was a speaker thing, but I couldn't tell for sure. It wasn't obvious.....

I have heard it when the car isn't running, nothing powered up. I'll be at an outdoor event and get in the car to stay dry or warm for a few minutes and hear it. Car hasn't been running for hours and the only thing electric is the light that came on from opening the door. Very odd and makes me nervous about what is running and the life expectancy of that little battery.

Mine wouldn't have been a turbo pump as it's a base model. Also the car hadn't been running for hours.

If this helps, I can tell you with 100% certainty that sometimes when you get in the car (without putting the key in or anything), the speakers will emit a 'shhhhh' white noise.

It happens for around 60 seconds, then discontinues. If this is what you're experiencing, my opinion is that it's normal, as I've experienced it on 2 R60s now.

this sound never stops. It's constant as long as the car is running. If the engine is not running, but the electrics are powered up, there is no noise
