satellite radio stuck

Hi All,
So got in the car this morning and it seems my satellite radio is stuck on hits 1. No matter what I try the station wont change. Pre-sets, manually change it, everything... Anyone have this problem before?

Thanks,
Nick

Have Sirius send your radio a new activation signal. Sounds like you are stuck on preview and the radio thinks that you are not activated. Just a thought.

Angry Sirius Radio Stuck also

This happened to me yesterday as well. I called Sirius from the car and they said oh you have a 9 month subsription, ah WRONG...Person's english at the the other end was suspect....anyway after yelling at them and hanging up (fed up with crappy call center services in general) I parked the car and started it up 10 minutes later and viola.....back in business. Not sure if my yelling helped but it got fixed miraculously after my rant.

my 2012 hardtop just did this, this morning. Worked fine since I bought it on Saturday. Do I need to register it or something? Should have a 1yr trial.

seems like sirius goes through a registration (or verification) burp every once in a while, ive had it "stuck" on channel 1 (only happened once, but engine off and on reset it) but have had it read "no subscription" briefly also, that usually only lasts a second though. nothing that hasnt occurred on any of my other xm/sirius devices, i've been using the service for years and they've always been a lil buggy with the subscription verification

They just recently 'renewed' an old XM radio that just wont stay verified, they were pretty good about transferring the balance to the MINI even though it was an XM radio, you do need to call XM /sirius to set up an account for the car.

I called early this morning and they weren't open, I punched in the Radio ID # and had it resend an activation code but that didn't work.

When I get back off work and back to the car I will call them as I forgot to write down the ID #.

I tried entering in my VIN / Zip here: https://care.siriusxm.com/oemaccount...on_view.action and it couldn't find it. I guess not enough time to enter their system.

I just had the same thing happen Wednesday night in my 2012 hardtop. Did not have time or energy to call SiriusXM. In the morning it was back to normal good tunes.

Just log on to the satellite radio website and click on resend signal.

Something similar happened to me also. Took several re-activations. Sirius customer service is not very good and web activation did not work for me.

I have had the same issue on multiple ocassions. Although I can say it has not happened for sometime now. I told my dealer about it and they could find nothing wrong with it.

I have a newbie question (since we're waiting on delivery of car). When you purchase your car does your SA show you how to set up your radio - or give you an activation code or something. We've never had satellite radio before so I'm just wondering how you set it up?

Your MA should be able to get it activated for you. I asked for quick delivery, but I did not leave until Sirius was setup and working.

After frequent disconnects from the Sirius service (both during the free trial and after subscription), we mentioned the fact at our one year service. The dealer told us there is a service bulletin out on this problem and they're replacing the radio under warranty. We have the radio that comes with the upgraded sound system.

We've had Sirius in our Mercedes SLK for 7 years, and run into this problem once every few months. Seems to happen when Sirius is sending "updates" to the channel listings.

Agree on the call centers. Recently spent an inordinate amount of time activating another radio - we were clearly not communicating. Sirius in the Mini has only gone down once and a re-signal fixed it. My main problem is that Zaftig is still acting out as a homophobe. If I have Sirius tuned to Out Q and turn the car off, when I turn it back on it will be changed to NPR or the local country station.

Sealy - Who's going to start making Zaftig watch It Gets Better videos.

I've been trying since May to get Sirius set up for my "free" 1 yr. subscription. After repeated calls and online "refresh" sessions, I still can't get them to send the satellite link! I was told to go park my car in an outdoor parking lot with no trees (out in the open) for a few hours until they could re-send the signal ... so not cool.

We have a 2008 Audi Q7 with Sirius. The disconnect with Sirius happened once or twice the first year we had the car, but has not happened again in the last 3+ years. I think the radio and antenna play a role in the issue.

Chase does this too - I usually leave him on NPR when I get home. Sometimes in the morning I end up listening to a crazy country station... It's like he forgets.

I think Zaftig is probably just forgetful, not malicious... (but I want to see the It Gets Better video you're making anyhow)

I was having an issue wheremy xm would be stuck on a certain station. Regardless of me changing the station and the check mark displaying by that preset it would still play the station on preset 1. I took it to the dealer and it turned out to be dirt behind the button. They removed the button and cleaned it. I thought it sounded crazy but I have not had an issue since.

I'm leaving the videos to the pros.

Sealy - Who, at 60+, knows that better is on the other side of the hill.

This has happened to me twice since I got the car in early May. Both times the radio is stuck on HITS1 (which is the WORST hip-hop/"dance"/teenybopper station). First time I called Sirius, and after sending me numerous signal resets, the radio finally started working properly. The guy on the line was very helpful (clearly wasn't an overseas call center, either). He mentioned that solar flares sometimes are the cause.

Last week it happened again, but I didn't have time or inclination to try to fix it, as I was only on a short ride. The next morning it corrected itself.

My husband has had Sirius XM in his last three Nissan Muranos, and this issue has never come up. In our household it's unique to my MINI.
