Oh, that sucks! Were there any surveilance cameras anywhere around? A friend of mine had her car keyed in the parking lot at work, and it was caught in the cameras, so she pressed charges against the guy.
People that do things like this are just miserable human beings.
Again...sorry. Hope you can catch the imbecile.

Same thing happened to me with my current car. Randomly got keyed one night. My best guess as to why it happened was that there was another silver Scion tC just like mine in the parking lot from time to time, and perhaps the jackass intended to vandalize that person's car.

Anyway, I hope you can find out who did it, or at the very least, get it repaired without losing too much out of pocket.

I don't think I would. I have a feeling that it happened at my mom's townhouse complex yesterday. I had to park a a block away on a different set of visitor parking. We were there the afternoon to visit. After that, I went to downtown Vancouver for a friend's party, but I parked at my friend's secure spot. So, I doubt it happened then.

Some people - and especially kids - don't understand the value of a vehicle or the relationship between an owner and "just a car". It could have been a random rub up against. Still, they need to be found and educated.

Sealy - Who hates it when he parks Zaftig alone and waaaaaay away from the entrance and comes back out to find all the spaces still empty - except the 5 spaces around him that are filled with vans, SUVs, and trucks.

I don't think so. Youanasia has been around these boards for a while, nietzche. His post count is much higher than yours!

Meanwhile...I'd be fuming. The closest thing I've ever had happen was when my son rode his bike too close to our minivan and scraped the handle bar down the side of the car from the front passenger door to the tail gate....the car was green and I still saw red.

Sorry to hear about your luck, that sucks but hang in there as there is not much you can do except get it fixed. Do you think it was a key or is it possible someone did the whole bicycle to close to the car accidentally thing?

Some people just don't respect others peoples property! It is so frustrating because these idiots usually get away with it.

Well, I don't think it's accidental. The scratch is vertical (straight up), not horizontal, very straight, and it ended up nicking part of the chrome trim just below the windows.

Anyways, after going to the gym and punching the bag, and a night's sleep, I feel better. I'm going to call a few detailing places to see if a cut and polish would get rid of it. Cross my fingers!

Feel for you OP. My previous car was keyed, on both sides . Was too deep to do it myself and ultimately found a wonderful body shop that did a terrific job.
