Sorry Ron, I haven't taken delivery yet.. hopefully in a few weeks!
rfg, for us at Mt Laurel I would estimate 5-7 days after arrival at the port (2-3 days at VDC, 1-2 days dealer prep) including the weekend. Otello arrives NY 9/14 so I would guesstimate your delivery to be the week of the 19th.. mine should be sometime week of the 12th if there are no further Irene delays and a smooth VDC visit *fingers crossed*

After not having any luck getting information on my Countryman order from the 2wglobal track and trace system, I emailed the customer support group about the problem and here is what I got back:
"Having looked further into the actual Bill of Lading i noted that this is a factory new car to the West Coast of the USA.
For this destination the port provider of BMW does supply us with sufficient data for our Track and Trace system, yet.
BMW cargo data to this destination is received differently than other destinations and this is why neither you nor me can track your car in the Track and Trace system."
So I guess that means anyone who has a car going to the West Coast of the USA won't get any info from the 2wglobal track and trace system.

I have a 2012 Countryman “En Route” due at the VDC in 3 weeks.
I am planning to add the Driving Lights and JCW Sports Gauges. Is there any advantage to have these items installed at the VDC? My MA is having a hard time to get a price quote from the VDC. Is there a published price somewhere? What is the process to get this done at the VDC?
Thanks,
Vince

When i asked the dealer how long the install time was, they said about 2 hours.

JCW Sports Gauges
Ron,
Thanks for your reply and for sharing your experience.
Do you like the JCW Sports Gauges? Given these Gauges are black, do they look okay with the Tachometer and Speedometer, which are not black (at least in the Countryman)?

The temp gauge is good, It would be nice if the gauge design mached the Tachometer and Speedo. I also have the G meter gauge, I wish they offered a Oil or Boost gauge instead.

Give it a few days. It still has to go through a couple of processes as described in the Owners Lounge. Unloading it from the Elektra is ths easy part. The time consuming part is being inspected at the VDC and then being loaded on a car carrier. Once it's on the car carrier, it's all up to the dealer..

My MA told me 3 or 4 days after it lands at port (which is today for me!). Or course, I am not in the middle of the country. It's only a 4 hour drive or so from the port.
there I go again being too serious!!!! (LOL) I expect my phone to ring within a few weeks too. I'm on the Othello scheduled to arrive in NY on Sept 14th. Dealer is in South Jersey so I figured a week after arrival. We have already taken care of the preliminaries ie financing, extra packages (blemish plus which takes care of scratches, dents, fron windshield and tires and wheels) With all of the maroons out there scratches and dents are so important. Wheels and tires (I have it on my present car and it has paid for itself two times over.) We are so ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: It looks like the ELEKTRA arrived at the NEAT pier at about 8:40PM EST. So it could be that some of our "Landlubbers" are disembarking at this moment.
Does anyone know how long it typically takes them to off-load one of these auto carriers?

I just checked the OTHELLO schedule, the arrival into NY (Jersey City) has been delayed a day. It is now scheduled to arrive on Sept 15th and will depart on the 16th. Hurricane Irene messed up the schedules Jersey City is a busy port and one day delay snowballs.

Hey MrLuckyPA - what the "blemish plus" you mentioned in your post? My CM will split it's time between Manhattan and the Hudson Valley - so protection sounds great? What gives?
Itg's on the MINI USA site, http://www.miniusa.com/#/shop/MotoringProtection-m
