Just got confirmation my 2012 CM S on order! Can't wait!

 

Greetings All!! Original owner of a 2002 "justa" Cooper....It's been my favorite car ever and it still looks and runs great but 9 1/2 years, 1 wife and 2 kids later, the inevitable time has come to find a replacement. Thank God (and BMW) the the CM came along at the right time!! After a year of badgering my wonderful, patient wife, she has finally relented and I ordered my 2012 Countryman S on 11/3!! The owner's lounge shows scheduled for production and I'm hoping to have it in my garage by Christmas, if my head doesn't explode by then!! I've been a member of NAM for several years and, although I haven't posted much, it's been an invaluable source of information on such things as how to do my own brake job and finding a suitable iPod interface for my early-build '02. I'm enjoying all the CM photos and great info regarding tracking our babies and I'm looking forward to many more years as an enthusiastic MINI owner!!!!

The OL seems to be behind on status. I have been dialing into 866-ask-MINI and getting more up to date info. The wait is still agonizing though. Mine finished production on Friday (11-11-11!) and is making its way to port. It has to come all the way to west coast, hoping it's here by XMas.

 

I'm in Virginia so if yours is already on it's way to Port then that bodes well for me since I ordered mine the same week....About to leave for Asia for the week so I'll have to wait until I get home to call.

I wonder how long it will take to get on a ship headed to Port Hueneme? Hopefully it will be here by X-Mas.

Mine says it's been in paint shop the last few days and is scheduled for completion today (Monday 11-14-11) but mine will be heading the port in Brunswick GA.

 

The next ship for Port Hueneme leaves on Nov 19th and gets in Dec 12th. I think that's plenty of time for pre XMas delivery. Both our cars will be traveling together!

 

Mine will be going to GA too and is also scheduled for completion today, 11/14.

 

I hope they can get from the plant and on this ship in time!

Just talked to Ask Mini ... Production Completed and rolling to port of exit!!!

 

The ship leaving on the 19th is the Mignon. If we miss it, the next one is the Otello shipping out on Dec 3rd with arrival at PH on Dec 28th.

Needless to say, I really hope to be on the Mignon. The shipping company's web site is not recognizing my VIN yet but it's not too surprising cuz Ask MINI says my CM is still on a truck heading to the port of exit. The phone rep said that once the cars get there it's out of their control but it's a fairly quick process. Since yours is right behind mine I think our cars have a good chance of making the Mignon. Fingers crossed.

Based on info I read on NAM you can put in either your full VIN or the last 7 digits of the VIN (not sure which is correct) in the cargo ID field and then the voyage info will show. Mine's not popping up yet.

Under 'Important Announcements' click on 'current vessel schedule' to see when ships are due in port. Looks like a 4 week schedule.

My car got to the dock on 11/10 and was loaded on the Torrens in the very early morning of the 11th. To find out if your car is on the ship, go here:

and click on track and trace. Put your VIN # in the Cargo ID line. It won't show up until just before they actually load the car onto the ship so don't despair if your car is at the dock but it shows "no record found" on the tracking page. Don't give up until the ship actually leaves the dock (which you can find out by going to marinetraffic.com). I went to bed on the 10th thinking I wasn't going to get on the ship and woke up the next day to find that it had. By the way, I'm pretty sure they go by train from the factory to the dock at Southampton. Anyway, mine is scheduled arrive at Port Hueneme on 11/30!

 

Whoa - my CM just got updated to "Awaiting Transport"! I was thinking it was going to be January before it arrived.....and maybe that's still the case. But I'm hopeful otherwise!

I never was able to find a photo with the same exterior spec (Royal Gray, white roof, silver Turbo Fans, chrome exterior), so I did a hackjob on the closest photo I could find, hand coloring the roof and cutting/pasting the wheels:



I know, I know.....lame. But it'll have to do for now!

 

I'm pretty sure the Countryman ships out of Bremerhaven not directly from Southampton

 

This is correct, mine went from Bremerhaven Germany, Southampton, then across the "pond".

 

Mine was 'released to a carrier and enroute to shipping port' this morning!

Hope it makes the Mignon leaving port on the 19th!

 

Mine too! 182: Released to Carrier So I assume that means it's on a train to Bremerhaven? I hope I make The Courage on the 19th worst case scenario.

 

My car has been at the VDC for a week. I just got an email from my MA and she says that the car won't be here for three weeks!?! What!!!! I am not having anything added that should delay it. Owners Lounge said it was delivered to the dealer. Dealer says it has not checked in at the VDC yet.
