MINI Connected App just added Facebook support

The App Store just notified me of a new version of MINI Connected which now supports Facebook. Just installed it, but have not tried it yet.

Now that is a biggie. Much bigger deal than twitter or Pandora I think. My wife is going to be very happy.

It is interesting to see that MINI Connected (the device in the car) can be supported either through MINI Connected (the app) and its various modules (RSS, Twitter and now Facebook) AND directly from independent apps like Pandora. This provides a lot of flexibility.

Yeah the flexibility of potential future upgrades is one of the things that sold us on getting it. I'm sure lots of cool things will pop up in the future.

Just configured the Facebook module in the MINI Connected app and it used the Facebook APIs to connect to your status line, wall and other objects. Looking forward to seeing what it does in car, though I am still just using my iPad for testing this as I do not own an iPhone and will not until Verizon releases a global version.

That should come with the iPhone 5 later this year when they shift to a multi-service QualComm chip (that can handle GSM and CDMA).

I'm also looking forward to seeing what else comes along with MINI Connected... It would be cool to offer small magnetized cameras you could put anywhere on the car, that would forward video to the iOS device for recording and display on the main monitor.

Or give an easy bluetooth camera for a backup monitor with the only wiring to be for power.

that is huge...they might as well drop Twitter since one can update a "tweet" through their Facebook status.

My Twitter feed has no relevance to Facebook status so I definitely want both.
