De-Badged

Was wondering if when placing a custom order, are you able to designate no model badging? You can with BMW and was curious if I could have it done at the factory instead of doing it myself.

Not an option unfortunately. You'll have to do it yourself!

If not, its real easy to do, especially if it hasnt been on long... Though careful of fairly new paint.

If you take the big badge off the back, you won't be able to get into the boot. Something to think about.

I actually just heard from my MA, no dice. I just don't like the stuff on the back, and may take All4's off the doors.. No Mini de-badging, lol.. just model specification removal. Looks cleaner. And easier to clean..

I did a BMW Euro Delivery back in June 09 and asked my CA if I could do this he said just take some dental floss and a hair dryer and adhesive remover and they will come right off!

So this was not a factory option something that took me 5 minutes when i got my car home from germany!

However in Europe you can choose "delete model designation"

My client advisor recommended it when we were picking out all of our cars options, this was well before any literature was available for the then new e92. I don't know how the request was carried out, but when we picked up our e92 in Munich the model designation was, as requested, not there.

Porsche has a no cost option called model designation delete which allows you to order a car without model badges.

Here in europe is possible to have it de-badged .... But they will just remove the Cooper/One/Cooper S logo in the back... And it's written that they will not remove the ALL4 badge... Probably u have to keep it, so if it occur to tow the car they now that is a AWD!! Reading the manual i noticed that the ALL4 must be towed on a flat truck and not on the wheels!!

Good to know about the towing. Also the dental floss and hair dryer to get the badges off.

When I've done it in the past, I use the delicate version blue painters tape closely around the name plate. Just in case you get a little into the removal process... It will protect the paint from your fingers and the whole process.
