usb interface / TRS connector question

I haven't seen anyone post this question yet. Is the usb interface / TRS connector standard on all Countryman even if it doesn't have the MINI Connected option?

Good question. I have been assuming that one needed the Bluetooth/iPod connector to get these two things..or even one of the two.

I think they should be standard. Of course I think lots of things should be standard.

Anyone who picked up their Countryman without GPS/MINI Connected? Does your car have the USB interface / TRS connector standard in your car?

I drove an ALL4 at my dealer and it DID have the USB interface as it had the bluetooth/ipod option on it.....it did not have GPS/Mini Connected. Not sure if this helps.

So if you DON'T order the Bluetooth/ipod $500 option, is this connection still there? I'm trying to decide of the BT/ipod option is even worth getting. I don't talk on my phone in the car, but I do have an iphone, etc. Thoughts?

Here in Europe you get just the aux line-in as standard optional, no USB... For the USB you need to buy the Bluetooth/USB package....

I thought the USB would come with the USB/Bluetooth option and the aux line std. That makes more sense.

So the demo vehicle I viewed had a USB port in the glovebox and then a ipod cord near the emergency break (it had Mini Connect installed).

Since I haven't had a MINI before, two questions:

1. Is the Bluetooth/ipod package for $500 essential? Again, I don't plan on using the BT function really.

2. If you don't get the above package how does the ipod/iphone interface with the H/K sound system? Does the quality suffer? Do you just lose the steering wheel controls but still have the cable?

Thanks in advance...
