My wife and I agree with almost everything everyone has mentioned about the Red, exception is WE LIKE IT! We saw the Red on one of the pre pruduction cars in Chicago in August, put money and specced the car the next day and have had it almost a month now. Other than being asked 'what is that color?', we have not had any negative comments, maybe a "not for me or I like_____," but not hateful. It is the strangest Red we have seen, in different lighting it does appear to change from Red to Orange and everything in between, OK, it works for us. I rather like the 'In Your Face' color, most of the others are a pastel, but all are what they are. We liked the White, the all Black and many of the other colors, they set the Countryman off well. I figure most buyers will go for the elegant, such as the White, the formal, such as the black, and the other colors will fill other likes. It sounds like the Red will be fewer in number, Great!, and I think it is a bit more sporty.
So bottom line...look and choose what you like, the car is great in any color!
Mike

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a Countryman All4 order, and I' thinking Crystal Silver with a white top. Has anyone seen one like that before? I wonder how much the top will contrast the silver. The configurator always seems to make all of the colors a bit darker than real life...

Right on. I know why they aren't offering Chilli red, but I still think it's a big mistake.

We went Silver/black, as seen below. The only option we were sure we wouldn't regret!

I just purchased a Royal Grey with a black roof and mirrors. Looks great with the 18" anthracite rims.

Would love to see pics! I've been wondering how the anthracite 18's would look on that color.

The demo at our dealer is silver w/black roof and looks great. I think you will be very happy.

The MA's must be in heaven with this new Countryman being available. We placed our order yesterday and stopped in about 15 min before closing. Our MA had 4 orders he was putting into the system when we stopped by and just that day had sold their fully loaded demo stick shift before anyone had even driven it! His year is off to a good start I'd say...

We ordered a base with a bunch of options, Royal Gray in color. Looks like it might be a rare one, as most people seem to be getting the S or the ALL4. I'm getting giddy, we'll soon have another MINI!

I am getting surf blue also. It looks awesome in person. I ordered it with the black roof, and black 18" rims. By the way, I was going to order the black lounge leather, but when I saw the black leatherette, I ordered that. It looks like real leather, feels like it too. Mini WAY improved the leatherette on the countryman over the 2010 MCS leatherette. Save the money and order the nav instead!

Hey guys, saw surf blue in person tonight FINALLY!!! Kudos to your choice. It looks fab and hip (especially with dark wheels) and love the flatness of it.

I think I've seen nearly every color in person now (except yellow, but Spaners looks very slick!). Our dealer has had quite a few pass through in the last 10 days. I was very disappointed in how 'brown' the Royal Grey was...wanted it to be more like a dark silver, or a cooler temperature color grey. It doesn't look anything like the pics posted in this thread imho.

Also I was confused by the red...I wanted red/black sooooo badly, but may pass on it for white this time around. I have to decide/order this wek The other running for me is silver with white. IF I lived in a dryer, warmer climate I would be my brave self and order black/black...maybe some day

Ditto on the leatherette seats. AMAZING quality...even super nice side stitching!!!

I'm with you - I think the leatherette is amazing. But you lose adjustable lumbar and the trim choices for the interior are so limited. You end up with a very dark interior.

Anyone think those are reason enough to go with a different seat material? I wish they offered more trim color choices with the leatherette.

I ordered a surf blue ALL4 S with the black leatherette, and I was able to order the surf blue color line, which includes the door panel inserts and the center tray insert, so it sets it off real well. I drove one, and did not even notice the lack of a lumbar support, so hope that is not problem. Don't think so, I would have noticed immediately how unconfortable the seats were, as I have when test driving other cars in the past, but did not notice with the countryman.

You're lucky with the surf blue, since the blue color line does work pretty well. But the only other choices are tobacco and black!

What if your exterior choice is Cosmic Blue or Silver? Tobacco or Blue? I don't know if either would work, so you're back to black. Which isn't bad, but it's just a very dark interior.

Could the blue work on the doors of a Cosmic Blue exterior, or would that be too shocking?!?!

MaybeMCSC,

I personally do not think the surf blue colorline with the cosmic blue exterior would work. The true blue exterior it would for sure. Good luck whichever way you go. This is the most exciting part about purchasing/ordering a new car.

Regarding the interior being dark...I sat in a tobacco cloth interior and it had the beige headliner, which helped a lot! So maybe if you opt for leatherette and black color line it won't be too bad with beige headliner?

I haven't seen the surf blue color line interior, so I can't comment on it, but I think it would be ok on a surf blue, black, silver or white. I saw the tobacco color line on a cosmic blue display model and thought it looked REALLY nice (but again dark).

Agreed! The color/option shopping is intoxicating

And frustrating as all get out. Thousands of options, but only as OKd by Mini. Blanked out option choices drive me bonkers.

And, as this is the color thread, this group of colors has to be seen in person to be appreciated (!). I've never had to deal with such an odd selection. Sounds more and more like the True Red would be more at home on the breakfast table than the tarmac. Only the Fireman seems to love it - go figure.

I just placed an order for an Oxford Green with White top, has anybody seen this combo in person or have any pics?

Mine will be a base model with pretty much no options, yes it will be a plane jane slug but it will probably go to one of our kids when he gets to driving age and I don't want him having too much power on tap

I saw one at our dealer about two weeks ago that was a special order. It looked nice, very classy. I think you will be happy with it.

That's exactly my situation as well. I could get a "non S" with more options and when the car is paid off, my son will be 16. He can take the Countryman and I don't want him to have a fast car. Of course, he thinks I should get a S but I know what his motivation is..haha

okiedokie..........did you test drive a "non S" Countryman? I want to find out just how slow it is. My dealer doesn't have a non S yet
