I'm out of sync, help!

Okayy.. before I bore you all with my troubles I will introduce myself firtst. My name is Bijan Berahimi from Santa Clarita, California and I am 17 years old. I'm a senior in highschool, I play tennis and work at a design/print place called Crush Creative. Oh and I love MINI's

Now onto my MINI situation,
So around 6 months ago I decided I was going to get a 2006 MC but they didn't have one I wanted or could afford (no package). Then, around two weeks ago I decided I was going to order a 2007 MCS but then I realized that they would mark up the price up a lot so I could not afford that at all. The MINI cooper sales man was a complete ***, he kept saying he was a race car driver and that I was wrong about everything and that the 2007 sucked and that run flat tires are the greatest thing ever because he was a race car driver. Anyways, I can't afford a new MCS so now I'm onto buying a used car. So this is where I come to you all, I've decided I want a MCS because I think I need the extra power.. I will be mostly driving on the freeway and streets, but I hope to join a MINI club and hopefully get on some tracks. So I don't know what years are good, I'm looking at 2003-2005 and I want everything stock because I want to do stuff to it myself. My price range is pretty low, around 19,000 and I'm looking for either a pearl white or gray, but hyper blue is pretty nice too. Sorry for the essay!

BuyMyCooper.com: Here's an option

I have a 2004 MCS you may be interested in. My wife and I are expecting our first child and I have to part with it. I love this car so while I'm excited about my son's arrival, I'm very disappointed I have to part with my MINI. You do what you have to. Anyway, you can get all of the information you want about my 2004 MCS here.

http://www.buymycooper.com

It's not Hyper Blue, it is Indi Blue. 2004 was the last year Indi Blue was offered and I decided I wanted Indi Blue because it matches the Lapis Blue leather so well (see interior). I just put new tires on it and they are not run flats (the ride is much improved). I don't like 3rd-party stuff so my MINI is completely stock. In addition, the car is in excellent shape because I have cared for it like I would own it for 8-9 years. Still under waranty. Just check it out and let me know if you have any questions.

If you don't like Les's MCS, I would think 19k would put you in the running for an 03-04.

Did you check the marketplace here on NAM?

I haven't seen the marketplace yet, I will check that out thanks.
Is the S better in 03 or 04?

2004 & 2005 changes

All of the new vehicle bugs were worked out for the 2004 models and that has been reflected during my ownership. In 2005, MINI changed the gearing and the headlight/brake light designs. There were some other minor changes, but those are the most noticeable.

If you didn't want to do a road trip, you could get my MCS transported to CA (door to door) for about $800.

check Craigslist all over the state (west coast even, anything inside the distance you'd be willing to drive is a good bet) - if you can find a stripped down 05> MCS with the LSD for a good price it sounds like it would be ideal for you

Welcome to NAM, Bera! I hope you find your MINI soon. Huligan's sounds like a good match. There's nothing like a road trip to get you acquainted with your new ride!

Well for me $19,000 is my complete max, a road trip would be so great but I'm still in highschool so time is hard to find and a plane ticket is more money! So is shipping your MINI here! Just wish you were in southern California, because I really like your MINI.

I'm sorry Hulligan, good luck with selling it.

Thanks for the welcome! a 2004 MCS sounds nice.. I had a feeling there would still be some kinks in a 2003.

There can be "kinks" in any model year. You just need to know which ones applied to the year MINI you're considering and then make sure they were addressed by the owner.

Most owner's who took care of their MINI will have all the service records.

No lsd but white:
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/263766130.html

seriously, i think you'll find a good selection if you do an expansive search on CL and are ready to haggle and inspect (and as with any CL listing, always go with a friend and meet in a public spot) good luck and let us know if you get one

PS: I wouldn't be afraid of an 03, we had one and it was fine; there were several production changes and options added for the 05s (and then even more changes mid year, LSD option included) so that is what makes the 05s/06s different.
