well, we're getting a bank loan. Would i need to get a contract from the dealer before going to the bank? I think that's what i was told a while back...but i forgot.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of rates are other people here finding for their loans? My bank, which typically offers some of the best rates possible, is charging 6.89 for a fixed 60 month loan. (I have perfect credit and this is their best rate) BMW is offering 6.75, which was surprisingly better than my bank.

My mini is arriving in SF tomorrow ^_^ , but I have to wait until mid next week to pick it up (dealer installs, etc.) >.<

Okay, now I'm excited. From "Enroute" on OL to a call from my MA today saying my car will be here this week-end! Into the shop Monday for dealer installs and a short trip to the upholstry shop for leather seats and then we go for delivery in time for Christmas week-end!!! Wooooooo Hooooooo!!!! What a great way to spend the holidays!! BTW the interest rate I've been offered all this week is below 6%, perhaps as low as 5.79% That's pretty good I think! "I'm about to loose control and I think I like it!!":impatient

Fixed or variable? My variable rate was around 5.7, but interest rates look like they're going to be going up and I was hesitant to go that route.

My MINI arrived at the dealer today Will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon if all goes as planned. As far as interest rates, I'm at 5.9%. Can't wait to motor home in the new ride!!!

Oh one question... Is the cup holder standard? Because I didn't order it and I got one. I'm not digging it... How hard is it to remove?

Schweet!

Yep they made the "Big Gulp" cupholder standard! It is really easy to remove... BUT you should keep it in place until you can figure out if you can live with the micro holders below the toggle switches! If you really can't stand it there are two ways to remove it. One is to remove just the basket part leaving the base, the second is to remove the two screws on the right hand side and put the screws back in the down tube. I am not entirely sure but I think they are Torx head. Minifini makes a really stylish cup holder but it is pretty $$.(attaches to the down tube near the bottom)

I absolutly *LOVE* the Silver Bonnet stripes!!! Can't wait to see what she looks like with the new wheels Tuesday will come soon enough and then we might be over this crazy storm!

I called my MA yesterday and he said "I have no idea what is going on down there" "Its getting close now" and "Might be next week" But as others are reporting, my OL page still says "En Route" as of this morning. I need to order a wind deflector and some other miscelaneous bits, so I am going to call them again on Monday... maybe it will just magically appear over the weekend!

As far as I know the rate is fixed for 42 or 48 months. I don't think I would like a variable rate right now. Too much up in the air with fuel prices and the war in Iraq.

RoyalJCW I also really like the bonnet stripes! I may look for a dark green stripe in that shape after we've had ours for a while. My wife doesn't think she likes any stripe, but maybe I can convince her otherwise?? I like your Mini/money statement.

Picked mine up today! The only problem is somewhere along the way they forgot the white bonnet stripes ....so it'll be a trip back to the dealer to get those installed, along with the clear bra. Have to install my iPod adapter tomorrow and do a good cleaning and then I'll be able to take some pics to post! CONGRATS to the other folks who have picked theirs up and will be picking them up in the next day or so.

I'm just gonna post this because its sooooo against the grain!!! My Sgt Pepper is due in to the dealer in Indy today. My MA said they would prep and install the clear bra and window tint, send it to the unholstry shop and probably have him ready to report for active duty by Wed. Well, I'm going to wait till Friday to pick him up! Call it an exercise in "delayed gratification", but we old men have to pick our times to avoid the strain on the old ticker! Just kidding, I'm not THAT old, but it works into our schedule better. I'm still extreeeeeemmmmmmmeeeeeellllllyyyyy excited. At nearly sixty, this is my first absolutely new car that nobody drove before!!! WooooooooHooooooo!!!!!

Blackout and oldtrojan, you two have a LOT more patience than I do. I think my dealer expedited mine because they were tired of all my calls asking when my car was gonna be ready. Mine was actually delivered a day earlier than what the OL showed. Gotta go install my iPod adapter now and get her cleaned up. Nothing like tearing the interior out of a one day old car.
