Well I put in my order on October 20th and I just got confirmation from 1-866-ASK-MINI that my build date is November 13th. Does anyone know timing from the build date? Isn't it 6-10 for production? TIA

Good job! You probably got one of the last JCWs available. I ordered mine right away once I heard there was going to be a serious shortage of JCWs in the coming days.

Didn't know about the JCW shortage. I just checked the owner's lounge and my order has been updated to match my order correctly. Nineteen days until my baby is born

When is your production date?

 

Yea, I was trying to delay my order for a few reasons. One of them was that I really wanted JCW but didn't know if i could afford it, especially right away. Then my friend at the company showed me an email discussing the availability of different options. At that time S Covertibles were already not available and they said JCW will be down to day to day availability.

I ordered my car on October 11th and it was born on the 22nd. It's already at the docks waiting for a boat.

 

Wow that was quick! I'm glad I got a 2006 model. I'm not digging the 2007 model too much... especially the bonnet height. I know it had to do with the pedestrian collision thing in Europe. All new cars will have to meet a certain height. Oh well. The original is the best!

I just checked my online status of my car and it's SCHEDULED FOR PRODUCTION
I called 1-866-ASK-MINI last week and they told me it was scheduled for production for November 13th. Does this mean my car is going faster than predicted?

 

So my car is in day 4 of production... completion is due November 13th (all according to ASK-MINI). I'm excited... but feel alone as no one else is in this production week

I think that I read that you are in the portland area. I am in the Seattle area. If you are in day 4 of production, chances are that you are actually complete or really, really close. Call 1 866 askmini because they give you more up to date info than anything else. I knew my car movement before my MA did. Once it hits the dock keep checking to get the bill of lading #. Also, you can check the WW site for travel days. I think that the next ailing to the west coast is on 11/16 with 23 days in the water. It comes into Port Huenme (sp) in LA and then trucked to us in the NW.

I just call 1866 ask mini and they said the est time to be complete is November 13th. Then she said that it should be sooner than that... by the end of the week. I asked how long after that, she replied with a 4 week estimate. So it looks like I'll be getting it mid december instead of the late december that was quoted

RoyalJC, sounds like we are in week 46 huh? All I get when I call Mini is the same thing..sheduled for production and completed by Nov12th. Our cars must be chasing one another down the produciton line!

 

What's you VIN#? I wonder how close our cars are. My VIN# is TN29150

 

Checked the source code on the VIN#. It's TN29171...only 21 cars down the line behind you. Almost twins!

Appears I may be week 46'er also with a VIN of TN29300. Not sure how many cars are on the production line at a time but it's possible for all three of ours to be rolling at the same time.

 

I just called and was told my MINI is in production as of yesterday Scheduled for completion on November 17th So I'm officially a week 46 NAM'er.....and all three of our cars are on the assembly line

 

Cool... This is going to be a long 4-6 weeks! I just hope I can stay focused on the Mini... I've been eyeing a few other cars when I shouldn't be! I have to stop looking:impatient
I need to stay focused! I was thinking of getting the JCW suspension kit installed at arrival, this plus the clear bra and iPod kit.

 

Finally got an update on ASKMINI. Car is in the body shop...almost there (actually probably about done with the delays on ASKMINI) WhoHoo! Need to make the next ship!

So I just called Ask Mini today and they said my car entered the paint shop November 9th. They still say that completion will be November 13th. Three more days and my baby is complete!

 

Whooo Hooo. I'm in the paint shop too! Still to be completed by the 12th! (must jump ahead of you because you need your JCW mods added). Let's hope we make the next boat!
