Production Week 43 (Oct 23, 2006) Support Group

Just got a call from my MA. My JCW is going to be in production week 43. I was also told that JCW's are in very limited supply and they are down to day-to-day availability. So, if you wanted a JCW package, you better put the order in soon.

On-Board Computer
3-Spoke w/Cruise and Multifunction
8-Spkr. Harman Kardon Sound System

Also got the anthracite headliner and rear fog lamp. I'm considering doing some other accessories on my own since the dealer installation fees are too high.

I was having a hard time with the color, I really like the BRG and the white roof and bonnet stripes too. I still dont know which one I want to pick. Well, I think it means I am supposed to have 2, but I cant afford that reality.

Two weeks ago I called Ask Mini. They told me that I had just been scheduled for week 43. Unfortunately, all subsequent calls have not been as fruitful. They just tell me that it has just been scheduled for production. It is really frustrating when no one can give your the straight scoop. Mini Me is BRG/B MCS sport, convinience, cold weather, and premium packages, LSD, Web spokes, HK, Antharcite, interior chrome package, panther black leather seats, and rear fog light.

Did you get a production number from them? Then you can at least track it on the MiniUSA site.

Unfortuately not. Stupid me, its one of those things that you learn as you go along I guess.:impatient So now I just need to keep checking. Hopefully my MA will call with some details soon. Doesn't seem to be any other week 43'ers out there yet so maybe we are just now getting the notifications.

Where are you, I'm in Seattle

I am in Hawaii. My MA had my week number within a day and the production number the next day after I ordered it. I would think your MA should have that info by now.

Wow, looks like there's gonna be some real beauties being manufactured/born in week 43. I think my MCS is week 43 as well. Can't freakin' wait.

Hey Celtic

What is your configuration and what part of the country are you in. I have been trying to find a Euro Parcel shelf to order ahead of time but evidently they quit making them.

Speed Racer - mine will be a British Racing Green MCS w/ black roof, mirrors, bonnet stripes. Sport, premium and cold weather packages, 6 speed, LSD, anthracite interior and headliner, black leatherette, chrome line interior, Harmon Kardon, rear fog light. I'm in Denver.

I googled Euro Parcel shelf and got a bunch of hits:

http://homepage.mac.com/rv6a/MiniParcelShelf.html

http://www.motoringfile.com/2003/04/...lfFor69Shipped

EDIT -- check this out https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=81340

Not sure how old those links are as the small research I've done suggests that they may not be available in the US --- you may want to find a way to contact a MINI dealer in Europe.

Gonzo - Have fun w/ the Works kit. A bit beyond my budget, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

celtic frost,

Thanks! It was out of my budget too, but I just had to have it -- it was killing me.

I waffled between the space blue/silver and BRG/W.. I finally just made a choice. I think I would have been happy with either one.

Good point -- if you have to have it, then go for it!

You made a great choice, I can't wait to see pics (preferably w/ you smoking the crap out of the front tires ).

Any week 43er's in the Denver area?

So what other changes are you guys thinking of making immediately. I already ordered a stubby antenna for mine. I hate the look of that long one as it makes Mini Me look like an RC car. I'm thinking Dinan CAI and exhaust. Any other ideas?

I'm thinking about adding the "invisishield" on the front end to help protect the paint a bit. I searched for it on the forum and it seems to be a good idea. I'll try and get a quote from the dealer in the next week or so.

I thought about the clear bra ( invisishield) also. The only thing is that once installed it has a clearly defined line on the bonnet, especially with the dark colors. It becomes even more pronounced when it is waxed. Otherwise, I agree, a good idea.

Celtic and Gonzo

When did you place your orders? My OL still hasn't updated but ask mini tells me that it is scheduled. I hate the idea of conflicting information.

Talked to my MA today. He said that production has started or about to start and that the projected birthdate is October 25th.
