Production Week 38 (Sept 18, 2006) Support Group
)... no nano... yet.i think maybe there is a similar device for the larger ipods. i gotta search for it again.
okay, i'm off to the dealer!
-----
PSB - maybe you'll be surprised with an early delivery... like i was yesterday
Just yesterday it was listed as being Delivered Nov 2nd. I've already called my MA to see if he knows more (which sadly he usually hasn't
)
Just got off the phone with sales manager and Goliath is at the dealers lot.
We can pickup Goliath Monday at 3PM, but we elected to make the trip over to get him Tuesday AM.
Monday they will tint windows, this is an outside service dealers does not do, cost was 220.00 but SM said they will take care of that to make amends about the late delivery and manifest problems we had.
I will get some pic up on the board ASAP.

Please say hello to lovable Grover...
The paperwork took a while, so the light wasn't great, but here are some first pictures of Grover!!!!!!! He's fantastic! So much fun, and I'm really happy with the color -- love the Hyper Blue and Black roof and the Hyper Blue interior! Still adjusting to having a manual again, but what a blast!!!
And yes I'm happy, despite the not so great expression in my one picture with him!
Glad to hear everyone else is getting closer... especially you namvet... you've been very patient.
Happy weekend!

This is going to be the longest weekend of my life! Fortunately the Auto show is in town in Seattle so I'll be visiting some '07's at the exhibition center
everyone that is still waiting... just hold in there! it is worth the wait!!!!
I drove all over today... took lots of family for rides and it was a beautiful day for it. it was one of those crisp, slightly chilly fall days and perfect for having the moonroof open. I stumbled gears a few times -- hopefully i didn't bruise Grover during the break-in period -- but I'm getting better. passed 100 miles and then added another 76 onto that!

by the way... if anyone might be debating between the ipod adapter or just the Aux input... I decided to just go with the Aux input for now (because it was cheaper) and I have to say.... i'm pretty happy. I put my ipod in the right side cupholder (of the two in the lower centerstack). because my ipod is a "bigger" 3rd generation ipod with a rubber case, it fits snuggly! then I run a short cord from the headphone jack to the Aux input that is right behind the cupholders (very back of the centerstack). And instead of buying a charger, I have a small Griffin FM transmitter that has a charger and I just don't use the transmitter. It snaps into the dock connector on the bottom of the ipod and because the cupholder is deep, fits in there without any problem. then runs to the cigarette lighter right next to the cupholder. a few cords, but nothing much... overall, an easy solution.
you can control the volume through the MFSW and although you can't control the ipod, if you put it on shuffle or have a good playlist going before you start off, you won't have to really touch it. if you do, it's easy to reach down, at a stoplight or something, and quickly hit the "next" button to skip to the next song.
the other thing I was surprised about was the quality of the sound. I've heard people say that the sound coming from the headphone jack is not as good as that from the dock connector, but I think it's pretty good. I listened to songs that I've listened to many times and heard things I've never heard before!
of course, i'm sure the ipod adapter is great... i'd love the MFSW control and I may upgrade to it eventually, but this isn't bad at all. it's much better than the radio with commericals.

Thanks for the tips and info mini dreams, I was debaing on the whole i pod thing or not, i also have not decided on the arm rest, though it seems it might be a must have due to limited places to put phones, wallets etc and the storega compartment in the arm rest is atleast a bit more space!

i ordered the armrest from the factory because i almost always lean to the right when driving... bad habit? lazy? maybe, but that's me. I love it. yes, the OEM armrest does not snap shut very well, so it does have this annoying habit if you hit it just the right way of sliding toward the back open, but I found that later during the day, it wasn't doing that as much, so i think i might have been "learning" how to lean on it. also, it doesn't interfere with shifting at all. in fact, i can keep my arm on it and shift if I want. as for storage, it is minimal, yes, but another spot for some small items. actually it is deep enough for my ipod, so when i park in a lot at a restaurant or store and don't want to take my ipod with me, i just unplug and pop it in there. if I am gone for a long time, i take my ipod with me.
also, the door panels are actually a great little place for things, too. they're not completely easy to access -- you have to reach over the little rubber/plastic bolster, but because they are covered a bit by the door oval, things are kind of hidden in there. i keep my Griffin and cell phone charger cords in there and sometimes my digital camera sits in there.

did i say how much i love the Anthracite headliner!!!! Grover gets a bath, clay and wax today!
