niiiice wax job!!
Where did you get the nero, it looks good! I get frustrated detailing my car sometimes.... I get too **** about it!! And the thing that frustrates me the most is getting the windows spotless. I got stoner invisible glass spray, which I heard was good in the detailing forum. And I even got special glass cleaning towels from target. I've tried windex and other towels too, and I can never get them streak free. They will look fine and then when the sun shines through them, they are all streaked up!! And it makes me want to scream!!!
Congrats on finally getting thru break-in. Have you taken it over 4500 yet?? You gotta try it, too much fun! Get yourself some more gas and go have a good time!

thanks... so far, the detailing products I'm liking the most come from Detailer's Paradise in Denver (and NAM sponser). Heather at DP knows a ton and is very helpful. Prima Nero is great (although I don't know about its durability yet) and Prima Clarity and their special MF glass cleaning cloth is quite good for the glass. I did get some streaks today, but I think it was because I was a bit sloppy. The first time I used it, it was incredible. Check my reviews of them here:

haven't gone over 5k RPM yet, but I'm sure I'll try it.
Long story short, my oldest son was taking his SAT's and I needed to kill about an hour before picking him up and wandered into a Tractor Supply (TSC?). The net for an ATV was the same size as the boot, I only had to remove about half the hooks. It fits perfect and works great. $6.
TC,
Thanks for the tip. There is a Tractor Supply near my parents place and I'll be headed up there for Christmas and I hope that I'll be able to make a stop and pickup a net.

Christmas Ornament
Fellow Week 38'ers! I ordered a MINI Matchbox Car and made a homemade Christmas Ornament for the Tree. I was so proud of my idea that I made a film of it!

cool... i assume it is BRG?
Awesome customer service experience
Had to relate the amazingly great service I just got from Long Beach MINI today. Yesterday the low tire pressuse monitor's light came on and went *ding* so we put air in the tire, but them my husband noticed a big old screw in the sidewall of the rear passenger's side tire. Off to Long Beach MINI were Max and me. The service guy said I could leave it and pick it up today. they gave me a free rental (a 2006 BRG Cooper automatic). They called this morning to let me know that the tire was toast and would have to be replaced. Which was not covered by the warranty. *sigh. So I went to pick Max up anticipating a $400 bill for the tire. When I got there, they said since the car was so new they were going to cover the tire themselves and just charge me for installation ($61). How awesome was that?!? Long Beach MINI rocks! As does the Cooper S (which was reinforced for me after a day driving the rental Cooper).
Happy holidays, all!

where'd we go? i'm spending way too much time in the detailing forum.
FINALLY got my welcome kit today! pretty cool. i won't mention any details in case others are waiting. I haven't seen the spy kit and toggle switches.
ordered the rubber boot matt from Moss recently and will get it Tues.
today was quite rainy and although I hate driving in the rain, this car feels quite comfortable in the rain. i also drove a relative's corolla... which is the type of car I've driven most of my life and while they are great cars, it is like night and day. the MINI is so tight in terms of steering it is amazing.
hope everyone else is happily motoring... happy new year!
