I can now say I AM a MINI owner. I cancelled my order when I found an almost identical car in Dallas. Since I had to have transportation before my ordered car would be here it just made sense. No problems there. I felt bad about cancelling, the MA was quite nice, but it had to be done. So this weekend was my "get the MINI for my birthday weekend". I had a lovely weekend. Picked up the car in Dallas, had a great experience with the MINI there. Um.... got something free ... not complaining at all. Drove to San Antonio. Spent three nights at the Hyatt Resort there and had a VERY relaxing time. Loved it. Drove a bit here and there, even got my husband to walk a few antique stores. Went to the Museum of the Pacific War (in Fredricksburg - birth place of Nimitz), Sea World, a few other spots and ate WAY too much. Drove home today, celebrated my birthday tonight with my kids (my son-in-law bought me two buckets for my new car wash kit ) and tomorrow life starts over in normal gear.

My husband loves the car. He started talking about doing road rallies. He used to do them when he was young... timed events with map reading etc. Yup, he loves the car. I was nice, I let him drive quite a bit!

well..... not so much. No actually, he is doing pretty good at 90. Just a little cantankerous. But as cute as a button. He calls me the "mean one"! Anyway, sounds like your weekend was incredible! That is great to hear. Plus everyone should get a car for their birthday imo!

 

WOW! Congrats!!! I need to get my z3 sold.. I had a perfect mini but the dealer wasn't coming any lower than $2000 over MSRP and I couldn't get my car sold before he sold the mini... so I found me a dealer who sells at MSRP and ordered an identical MINI.. LOL OH well, I'm doing it backwards to be sure...
I'm envious of your birthday gift.. course mine should be here near my BDay in November.. sucks to be born late!

Congrats and Happy Belated B-Day from the old Country Fried MATER. When my new owners took me out for a test ride, I just new I was a gonner. They took me home to Tennessee and I was treated like a new born pup. They just couldn't get their hands off of me. Ya better watch that husband of yours, or he'll be trying to take your new mini away from you and you will be a 2 car mini family. Congrats and have FUN in the SUN!!!!!!!!
