Gonna buy a used cooper soon. Need some help.

Hi... i went to see a used cooper S 2004 with 30,000km today. Everything seems petty good and i may buy it on tuesday. Before that, I got some questions. I am wondering what is the major difference between each year? I know that this is a common question and i tried to find it in the internet but i got no answer. Is the headlight change in 2005? Also, the used cooper S i saw today has no electric seat and heated seat. Do you get that in an option package?

point,

I bought a used 04 MSC earlier this year. I don't know about the electric seat option, but I do know that the heated seats were available with the controls located by the side mirror adjustments, just up from the emergency brake handle between the front seats.

One suggestion I might have is to take the VIN number to your local Mini dealer (service department) and ask them nicely if they could print off a copy of the options page for the car you are looking at purchasing. I did this and at the same time, met my new service advisor.

Good luck!

Yes, the headlight change arrived with the 2005 models.

Heated seats were optional, and no MINI's have electric seats. (good thing too, we don't need that extra weight)

The car has 30,000km? - are you in Canada?

I bought a used 2004 MCS earlier this year and am very happy with it. It had 24,000 miles when I bought it and has 31,000 now. I called a MINI dealer with the VIN before I bought the car and he told me the service history of the car, so if you don't live close to a dealer you can just give the service dept a call.

When was the tranny change on the MC? '04? 05? Because the newer one (Getrag?) is supposed to be significantly better, AFAIK.

'05 brought the Getrag gearbox.
Touch wood my '04 Midlands gearbox holds up for many years to come.
