they're here!!!

For all of you on the west coast who have been waiting for the Torrens to arrive. I just spoke to my MA and he said the ship arrived yesterday and the cars should be at the VPC tomorrow. He said that all the local dealerships in CA were told they would have the cars at the dealerships by the end of the month. Ten more days at most! Hallelujah!

Woo hoo, I can't wait now! I'm stoked for all you new MINI owners! I might have mine by the end of the week. I had a dream the night before last that I was pegging the tach past the recommended break-in rpms, Woops.

talented I guess... When you are posting and you want to insert a photo, look at the tool bar. You will see an icon 2nd from the right that looks like a landscape photo. You have to insert the the address of your photo there. To find the address, you have to bring up your gallery, right click on the photo, pick copy image address. Then return to your post, click on the landscape, paste onto the url line. Wahh la.

Meeting Junior for the first time!

I got to meet my new baby at the dealer today, when I dropped by to complete my paperwork.

He won't be ready for delivery until tomorrow, but we were at least introduced properly...

He's a bit bashful, since he's not been detailed, and not all of his accessories are installed, but he's still quite the handsome young lad...

Crazypoet: He's looking sharp! I love the black racing stripes with the PW...it's like a bowtie on a white tuxedo.

Congrats!

Love the PW/Black Look!

There's just something about the PW/B and PW/PW combinations. Not quite as formal as AB/W (looks like a tuxedo - especially w/white wheels!), but still has a very *dignified* look.

Of course, dignity goes right out the windows as soon as I hit the road...

I just got the personalization e-mail - they're setting up my radio presets and such even as we speak... I'll pick him up at 3:00 this afternoon...

I look forward to seeing everyone's babies!

I got him!!

I picked up Guinness at 12:30 today! It still feels super surreal. I can't believe it! Here are some photos (sorry, I am in all of them because my boyfriend wouldn't just take one of the car without me in the picture ).

There was a HB MCS there also covered up waiting for it's new owner - was that you, CB surfer?

Thanks, everyone! I am thoroughly enjoying this cute little beast! I still can't believe it each time I open the garage door and see Guinness in there waiting to motor. I can't wait until everyone in PW34 is out motoring. Then I'll be eagerly anticipating everyone's photos of special occasions and milestones!

Awesome! So far I love my non-S Cooper! Plenty of guts for me, in fact it seems like it has more oomph than my old car that actually had about 25 more hp than Guiness. It might be the fact that Guinness is a manual shift, which so far I am mastering quite well if I do say so myself!

Special delivery! That is pretty cool since W-S is a pretty long drive from Carolina Beach! - you'll have less miles to have to break in, though. It is hard not to take it up past 4500 rpm, and on the way home I found myself wandering up to 85+ mph and not realizing it. We can't wait to see your pics!

Congrats Doodlez!! Guiness looks fantastic! Great name choice too

It's so hard to describe the feeling of picking up a new MINI, but it sure is a great feeling!

And I agree with the non-S statement. I LOVE my base Cooper, and it has much more oomph than my old Honda, so I'm happy!

Guinness is just a sweet-looking car! I hope you're enjoying him as much as I'm enjoying getting to know Junior!

where's my car?

Has anyone on the west coast had their car released from the VPC yet? My car arrived at the VPC on 9/20 and is still there. Is this normal or should I be worried? I know the next ship is arriving on the 28th so I would think they would all be out by then.

From the time Junior arrived at the VDC to the day he was trucked to the dealer.

So you should hear something from your MA in the next day or two - I hope!!!

Thanks, crazypoet! Junior is hot! I guess Guinness is like the negative image of him . Yes, I am really enjoying him so far. So much fun mixed with the adrenaline rush of being a newbie manual driver makes driving very exciting, to say the least!

I got my first wave today, too!

I hope everyone who have received your cars are having a blast! If you're still waiting, we are eagerly anticipating your photos!

Hi psychedoc, I feel your pain, I am still waiting too and my car came in on or before 9/20, same boat and dealer as doodlez, mine is still at the distribution center in SC. No definite word on when 'BlueBird' will be in. The good side of the story is I was at a party on Saturday and some kids in the area were on a mission to vandal some cars, tire slashing and setting fires inside unlocked cars, many cars along the main road got their tires slashed, some all 4, mine only got one slashed, it could have been a lot worse, and it could have been the MINI. Unusual stuff for around here, hope it's a fluke.

ouch

Hi CB surfer. I feel even worse for you than I do for myself. It is so hard waiting when others are driving around but I do believe in delayed gratification so when 'Nikita' finally gets here it will be great. I just hope it will still be warm enough to put the top down.

delivery

I just spoke to my MA again. He said that Port Hueneme is overloaded with cars at the VPC. They got shipments of over 700 cars (BMW/Minis/Rolls Royce) and they are struggling to get the cars out. He said he hopes it will be at the dealership within 2-3 days but he can't promise. I know another ship is coming in tomorrow so it will get even busier. I wish I lived on the East Coast.
