Been four days at the port... still on on a boat... WW can't find it and my MA confirms she is still waiting... MA told me not to worry as the weather is lovely over there

Well fellow 29'ers, I will be away for a few days--I will be driving myself and all of my worldly belongings across the country from Denver back to Virginia. I load up tomorrow and then leave on Sunday. Im not sure how I will survive not being able to track the progress of the Liberty with our MINIs or taking the edge off my obsession here on NAM...but the upside is by the time I get back to the East Coast our cars should be at the VDC!

Can't wait to check in with y'all when I make it back East!

 

I will be on the Integrity too. Currently, vehicle is checked in at the port. Boat didn't arrive yet. She leaves UK on July 30. Below is her schedule (sorry about the formatting):

watching a few cars get delivered...it's a good atmosphere...and the A/C works great there. Some lady was taking del. on an MCS almost exactly like mine. My salesman spent close to an hour just showing her how to work everything. As a rule, I try to know everything about my purchase long before delivery time comes up. It seemed as though she had no idea about the workings of anything. Makes me wonder how she even made the decision to buy it. Liberty to be in and out of NY in one day. I hope the processing center isn't too backed up. Fingers crossed.

 

I cross check with oceanweather.com/data. Under the marine observations tab are the ships and their position. This data was rather constant compared to sailwx.com . She should be close to pulling into NY harbor because from what I can tell on ow.com, several hours ago she was nearing Long Island. I've noticed on some of the other support threads, that there is mention of 2 stops in the NY area. Mine doesn't get off until Charleston.:impatient Anyway, its almost over.

 

It's called "boat week." All prod. week threads seem to die during this time. Sucks, don't it?

 

Talked to my MA, she's still saying that the boat doesn't arrive in Charleston until the 6th, even though the WW site says the 5th...I'm gonna go with the WW site She also said that they ususally get the cars in a week after they dock, so it shouldn't spend more than a couple of days at the DVC...she estimated around the 12th, give or take a day or two...wow...that's coming fast!! Thank god
The weather is scorching and I'm trying to find as many things to do that doesn't require me to step out of the house! The only thing that could drag me out of the house on a day like it would be my MINI!!

 

Milwaukee's not that far from Joliet so I guess we're in the same boat......weatherwise and delivery time-wise I mean...

 

Frustration!

My Mini has been built since last week and awaiting transportation for the last week. I have yet to find my VIN on the shipping cargo track web site. Ask Mini robot just says waiting transportation also. Does anyone know the booking number for Integrity, I might be able to search for my VIN that way. I also know that my detination port is Charlston and the ship Tasco sails a little later leaving Southampton and going directly to Charlston ariving around the 12th. Maybe I'm earmarked for the Tasco? The weather here in Minneapolis is crazy hot also.

I have been passing the time shopping online. I ordered the Zanio kit and watched the free vid how to wash your car. I liked the web site ocdgarage.com. Bought some stuff there, they have the grit guards.

Well, to sum up, my level of anxioty has reduced and have mentally accepted that delivery will be the end of Aug and just stop hoping for anything sooner. But that could all change as soon as I get on a boat. Yes this thread is quiet, but I am still reading.

 

Well today is the Day that the Liberty docks in NYC!!!! Get those Mini's off the boat and get them to the VDC!!!!

Well I was checking AISLive today to see if I could see the Liberty at New York...I saw a Miss Liberty but I'm not sure if that's the same ship or not! But either way I'm sure she's here! How exciting, I just have to wait until Charlston to get off, but I'm waiving goodbye to all the mini's that are getting unloaded as we speak!

 

Hopefully when they get those Mini's off in NYC it will lighten the boat up and get it down to Charlston a bit quicker!!!

 

I spoke to my MA a few hours ago and he told me that Perdita was indeed offloaded from the Liberty yesterday and that she would be at the distribution center for two to four days, and then would be on her way to the dealership (MINI of Towson). The dealer requires 48 hours for 'inspection' (and presumably to install options, anthough mine are minimal--bonnet stripes and an audio input jack). So...as early as the end of this week, or next week at the latest.

 

Yeah!! Aren't you soooo excited!! I just talked to my MA today and she revised her original date now to August 9th or 10th!! It's fast approaching...well as soon as you get Perdita you need to post pictures of her so we can all be jealous!

 

It's CONFIRMED, The Mini's are off the LIBERTY boat in NYC as of Yesterday, July 31st!!!!

 

Now we need an "ear" for the Charleston MINI's. Who's up?
