So I guess the next stop for the Liberty is Baltimore Maryland on the 2nd, and then is scheduled to arrive in Charlston on the 6th....FOUR DAYS FROM MARYLAND TO CHARLSTON...are there even any mini's getting off at maryland??? what's the need for the maryland stop!!

I'm going to revert to very child like behavior for a moment...BUT I WANT MY MINI!!

Sooo...I've been debating what I am going to name my MINI...I feel like since he is "Royal Grey" in color he needs a snobby over-the-top british name...like Mr. Peabody or something, annnyyy suggestions??

How about Bernard or Sir Peter? I'm leaning towards Elwood.

Check out the off-topic NAM Tea Party thread--some great names there that might fit. Maybe Nigel? Or Withers? Reginald?

By the way...where's my mini! I haven't been able to track the Liberty since it was off coast by New York...I hope it's making good time to Charleston...I'm getting quite a collection of items for my new mini at the home...every time a box is on the doorstep my boyfriend just rolls his eyes at me. Managed to find a sweet pair of PAII driving lights for just a little over 100 bucks ebay, complete kit...so i'm itching to put them on. Does any one have any idea how much it might cost to install driving lights on a mini??

I have been away on vacation for a few days so it was a good break from constantly trying to track my car! I too am starting to look at some accessories and itching to buy them before the car arrives. I'm not sure how expensive the driving lights are to install. Have you tried motoringfile.com? I know they have some instructions on there for DIY items.

From: Goodbye Milwaukee, Hello Carson City, NV
BACKGROUND: I have not called my MA, Kyle, at International Auto since the day I ordered, 7/7/06. He's a great guy. I met him a couple of years ago when we got our first MINI, the MCS 40. At the time, our MA was Anthony, a British chap, whom we became great friends and keep in contact even though he has moved on to other endeavours. I bought the 2nd MINI, the PW/B through Anthony in 4/05 but on all our visits, which were many, we always talked to Kyle, whose desk was straight across from Mr. A. We always kidded with Kyle that if it weren't for Anthony, Kyle would be our Guy! Well as it came to pass, I rattled off 30k miles on the Pepper (only 9k on the Paddy Special) so I decided to trade the Pepper(which I loved in a legal but psychologically depraved sort of way) while the trading was good. By then, My Anthony had moved on. I wasn't worried because I knew Kyle would treat me right and he has! He moved up to Asst Manager and now he da man!

Anyway....knowing that Red is on the Liberty due to be off-loaded 8/6 I walked in yelling "Where's my MINI?", got a laugh and shot the (rhymes with knit) and left. I went down the road and made the tint appt. for later in the month. This was important stuff! I needed to do this today because there are only 2 weeks until my MINI is here. So important that I had to take off 2 hours early from work!

DISCLAIMER/APOLOGY FOR LONG VACUOUS POST: Sorry, I want my MINI! In the absence of relevant news I have nothing else to do. If your on First Gear, you understand. Thank you!

Hey, what tints are you getting and how much is it going to cost if you don't mind me asking?

I'm going to do the same as I did on the Pepper. I went 35% all the way around. I also did the sunroof with 35% even though it was already tinted from the factory. It was great. Not too dark, no problem at night and it kept the car reasonably cool in direct sun.(It wasn't hot when you got in.) It was a place called Blackout Window Service in Milwaukee. Very meticulous.

edit: oh. It was about $200 without the sunroof, 250 with. Expensive but worth it. They take their time and are careful with your car. They use Llumar tint film which is computer cut for your particular model.

BIG BOO HOO. :( - They found a problem with the convertible top of My mini and the Head Mechanic won't be at the dealership till Monday. Something about the top not locking into place correctly.... Not sure... Now I have to wait out the weekend to pick up the Silver Bullet. :( Big Bummer, had big plans to travel this weekend.

I guess it's better that they found the problem now rather than when I picked it up. I hope it's only minor.

Awwww...I'm really sorry to hear that..but like you said it is much better for them to identify the problem and take care of it before it becomes a headache for you....no worries, you'll be motoring in no time!
