Hmmm ... WW site lists my vehicle as status "Received at Terminal" on October 8th. Vessel "Patriot," voyage EB527-PAT. This voyage is scheduled to arrive in Charleston on October 28th. Actually, since my DLR is in Atlanta, it seems reasonable to suppose that the car will be unloaded at the next port (Brunswick, GA) October 29th.
Wonder why the status hasn't been changed to "Loaded" yet, given that the ship sails to-morrow? Guess I'll make no assumptions until the thing is actually en route.

 

There are only three VPC's for MINI USA NY/NJ, Charleston, and Port Hueneme, CA. Other ports of call would most likely be for other brands of cars.

The loading happens in a matter of 9 hours or so right before the ship sails. The ship sails less than an hour after they finish loading.

Has anyone figured out a way to track the ships on their travels across the pond? During the transit of my first MCS I was able to track the ship day by day as it crossed the Atlantic. I can no longer find that site.

Usually, the ships transmit their locations and local weather conditions to a central clearing house and then these locations are shown on weather maps along with the call letters of the ships. Apparently the WW ships do not provide weather information.

 

Now due in NY 10/21. One day late.

 

I was out of town over the weekend, and been catching up today, so I'll try to put together a full update of everyone's status tomorrow morning. :smile:

2. I got plates and registration

Now all I need is my baby! SHe should be here within the next week or so.

Woohoo! I just got the e-mail that told me my baby will be ready for pickup on Thursday at noon! Coolest part of this is that today is my birthday. :smile:

This is odd. I checked 2wglobal this morning and the COURAGE shows that it has departed Baltimore, but shows the next stop as Baltimore. Either its drifting in the Bay or it's headed for Charleston. Doh! Guess I'll have to watch for a couple more days to see when she lands.

 

OL says that Zephyr is awaiting transport, WW site says "no tracking info is available", and automated system at ASK-MINI says "in transit"...

ASK MINI > OL, so your MINI is in transit (i.e. on a ship)

All of the west coast MINIs that shipped out last week appear to be going through a shipper other than WW, and it looks like the same holds true for yours, so you won't have tracking.

 

Looks like 2W corrected the COURAGE this afternoon. It now shows she left Baltimore headed for Charleston. On schedule so far, so I *SHOULD* be driving my meaning in 14 days!

The delivery of my Mini has become a pretty funny story. My original copilot for the trip decided to buy one too, so I called up Julie and reserved the other MCS on the COURAGE. Yep, going all the way to Cleveland, grabbing 2 Mini's and then road-trippin' home over 7 days! This should be blast.

So my Mini is now Hyper Blue instead of Space Blue. I get bonnet stripes too now! :smile: So once I hit the road I'll be posting some pics of the Mini's coming home over the trip. I wanted a vacation for my birthday, so this works out perfect for me!

 

My MA said that the Courage is due in Charleston tomorrow and our MCS will be in our hands next week.....getting close!

I think I have just sold my VW GTI, and will therefore be carless until Zephyr arrives -- lots of bike riding and public transport in my immediate future, but it will all be worth it.

What do you think, will our siblings make it to Seattle or Denver first?

 

Well, I can't find where my Mini is. My MA said it's due in Charleston on 10/27, but the WW website says there's no info. when I put my VIN in. And according to the schedule on WW for ships arriving into Charleston, there's nothing arriving on the 27th! Aaarrggghh. Besides, I'm in Cleveland, so you'd think my Mini would be going to NY instead of SC. Any ideas?

 

Don't trust the Charleston schedule on the web, it's not entirely accurate. It also could be on a different carrier (see the rest of this thread) too.
