I was hoping for arrival by 11/19. Anyone else's vehicle arrive before the estimated date?

I picked mine up late this afternoon.
The following photos are not meant to be representative of the true color of Solar Red. The lighting was poor and a combination of sunlight mixed with an overhead flourescent which made it tricky to capture correctly. I will try on Wednesday to get some daytime shots that are better representative of the color.

Tonight I switched out the holeys for my new wheels. Photos of that tomorrow as well.

Who's next to Motor?

OOHHH, Solar Red
Thanks for the pictures Dave, we anxiously await the followups !
What is your intial impression of Solar Red ?
I see she arrived with Pirelli's instead of Contis...is that a west coast thing?"

Congrats David, I predict that will be a fairly rare color combo. I think Solar Red probably joins Royal Grey in being very hard to convey in photographs, you kind of have to see them in person to get a true feel.

Not sure if it's a West Coast thing. I'll try asking my dealer and see if that's something they have been seeing for very long or not. I did notice that MINIUSA lists the 15" wheels as coming with performance 15" tires. I thought the 15's use to be listed as having all seasons.

My pickup appointment at Schomp is tomorrow (Thur) at 1PM! The factory iPod interface is backordered, so they can process Zephyr quickly since he is only getting rubber S front floor mats and a glove box organizer for accessories.
I am taking the day off work to make a day of it: bus from Boulder to downtown Denver, light rail to Littleton, take delivery/go through checklist, cruise by Webb Motorsports to show Randy and Brian the new ride, and then hit Lookout Mountain on the way home to give Zephyr his first taste of the twisties...after which I'm sure he (and I) will be addicted...
TSB: thanks, I'll have more tonight.
micah: These 06's (and the 05's for that matter) at a lot tighter in terms of fit/finish of the cabin compared to my '02, even when it was brand new. It's just an amazing contrast to me the two.
As for the handling, I like the new suspension (I opted for the upgrade to the SS+ on the cooper), but I will definitely be doing the rear sway bar.
Wheels and Tires: 15" Konig Rewinds with anthracite centers and 205/55 R15 AVS ES100 tires. They match the car beautifully (photos of that tonight)
I miss lookout mountain.
That was the first place I drove my '02 MCS once I got back to Colorado from picking it up in NY.

I am guessing I will be the last week 40'er to get my car
I've seen it... touched it... it's nice. I actually saw it about 2.5 weeks ago before I took my west coast vacation... thought I would get it after I got back.
But no... BMW and my lawyer are still doing... something... who knows.

Update>>> My second MINI, a week 46 build ships tomorrow.
Lots of people got theirs before me, but you folks on the left coast are only going to beat me by a couple of weeks.
Enjoy your new cars. Hope to join you soon in ownership.
Chuck
i'm surprised you could get your MINI, think about it, re-order, and still only wind up being delayed by a couple weeks (at most) compared to us West Coasters. That's v. good news.
One of mine from last night with the nearly full moon
Nice Photo
Nice photo Dave...was that "shooting star" really there, or was that some post photo artistry
The wheels and tires look super !
, very aggressive
I see it didn't take long to get those amber side marker lights changed out !, thats on my list of "firsts" to get done when my baby comes in, along with window tinting !
Keep those photos coming, I'm loving it

The shooting star is an airplane. The photo was taken about 9:30 at night with a 30 second exposure, so the plane had some time to travel across the frame.
The clear side markers are straight off my '02 MC, which now has the orange ones from the MC.

Zephyr is in my hands!
Photos are in my gallery (I put up as many as would fit in my alotted space).
I picked him up yesterday while it was snowing. It was a perfect day for it actually! Both Aaron and Vince at Schomp were great through the whole process, and I highly recommend going to see either of them if you are buying a Mini in the Denver area.
Also cruised by Webb Motorsports to show Randy, Brian, and Bridget the new baby -- they were psyched, and will soon be working their magic on him!
It was about 30 degrees and snowing on my way home, but I still was able to have some fun (including a couple of drifts through some icy corners on side streets) -- all I can say is that this car exceeds every expectation and quite simply, rules!

Thanks Dave. I did change out the R84 V-spokes for the R83 five-stars -- I prefer the clean, classic design of the R83s (has some design elements that go back to the original Mini), and don't mind the sleeper look to boot.

While I was hangin' at WMS, Bridget was actually admiring your new Mini and wheels on the computer screen in their office. You have a good rep over there.
