When you go to the dealer and see a sold car with scratched on the bonnet stripes, hood, roof.. you tend not to want them to wash it. Hopefully they didn't wash mine like I told them. Pickin up today at 1.
I'm also going for 16" (after having a '96 sable for a few years, I learned to hate rims that look too closed in) - one thing is looks.. other thing is brake cooling plus they are lighter from what I gather.

No knock intended. My wife would also like me not to place the stripes on, but they are already ordered. I was originally thinging of placing black vinyl on the chrome grill, but I may re-think that. Fortunately, if I don't like the stripes they can come off.

But just to let you know, I sent the rep a follow-up message couple of days ago with the Bol Number (she asked for the "waybill" which I'm guessing is the same thing?), and haven't gotten a response. Don't think you can get a lot of more info. She also mentioned that they cannot track by VIN.

IF I'm on the Emden it's still another day out from NY with an actual arrival date the same as the Maersk Teal on Monday, Oct 3. Hopefully Icarus is on the Emden and will be at the dealer on Thur or Fri!

My MINI has been at the VDC since last Monday. According to my MA on Wednesday they got a truck of 2006 cars - but no drop tops. My MINI was actually one of their first 2006 build slots, but the word he got was that the convertibles would be coming later.
Could it be that they are kept longer at the VDC to do the recall work on the wear issue for the tops? If so, I don't mind waiting a few more days as long as the top will not develop wear marks.
Either way, he said I should get her next week.

Spoke to my MA today - still no car! The OL says "at the dealer" and my car arrived at the VDC a week ago.
He was hopeful it would arrive later today, and I can pick it up later this week. Why are these last few days so hard?

Seriously I know what you mean. I've just resigned myself to use patience out the whazoo until the dealer calls me up to tell me Icarus is ready to be picked up. It makes it easier to get on with my job!
