My understanding is the break in miles should not be highway miles but something that makes you go up and down through the gears. Shouldn't be a problem as long as I stay off the interstates.

Has anyone else heard that one? I could have misunderstood.

 

Actually, neither am I. Probably going to do a couple smaller trips to Mt. Rainier and a ferry ride to the San Juans. I could try to mimic Hawaii and drive around the San Juan islands in loops.

 

My MA said highway was fine, as long as I avoided the cruise control. He also recommended changing speed from time to time and even changing between 5th and 6th gears.

But then again he said keep it under 5000 rpm, while the manual clearly says 4500. So maybe he is nuts.

 

F.Red drove Highway(no cruise control), Back roads from Atlanta to Savannah. We have a motorcycle ride to Savannah in two weeks so we wanted non highway. City driving Orlando, Idling on I-95 4 miles one hour. Visited old home in Fordia driving around neighborhood. Speed on highway 55 to 85 mph.

Adjusted seat a hundred times found my sweet spot

Took back roads last 60 miles amazing the different of 3,000 to 4,500 rpm and 4,500 to 6,000 rpm F.Red became F.Red

 

Well I stopped by South Bay tonight hoping that the EDD of 10/9 was correct, even though I never got a call from my MA. I asked him if by chance they had received my car, but he wasn't sure. Went back to check with the manager, came back and gave me the good news!! Then we went to the roof where all the newborns were enjoying the sun, I glanced around and VOILA!! There she was!!!



The aero kit will take a few days to install. According to my MA, I should be able to pick up Monique by next weekend! Still too long!! So freakin excited!!!

 

I bet your heart stopped the instant you laid eyes on her and recognized she was yours!

 

Definitely skipped a beat!! Couldn't believe she was mine!

Well, picture right now. A little note, my fiancee thought I was nuts since as soon as we pulled into the dealer lot, I knew which MINI was mine, and confirmed it when I pointed at the VIN and recited it. :smile:

Just got the call from my MA and Daisy is in the lot. They are "unpacking" her as we speak and the iPod adapter is getting installed. Hopefully the stripes will get installed today before we pick her up, but I AM going to get her today. My hubby doesn't want to get her until she is all done but I want her now and don't want her as a showroom model and let others sit in her before I do. We will be going to pick her up at 4 today. YEA!!!!

Well just got back from the dealer with my brand new girl, she is a little naked without her stripes but she is getting thoes this weekend. She handles great and my hubby loves driving her. He was plesently surprised with her. I absolutly loved her and am excited to drive her again. have a great night everyone and HAPPY MOTORING!!!
