Shipping from East to West

Hello! I'm waiting for my baby to arrive and I'm about to go crazy . It's now been 7 days since it left the dealership and it's still not here yet. I called and he said it is scheduled to arrive Sunday or Monday. Does it usually take 10 days? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Yes - when our #2 MINI was shipped from VA to CA - it took about 10 days as our's was loaded on with several other types of cars being delivered across the country.....very normal... Hang on - it's coming....

<cough> Well, it depends on how many times the transporter driver stops, unloads your MINI and tries the local roads . . .

That sounds about right. It took about that length of time for my MINI to come from Ohio to CA.

Hold on a few more days, you're good.
Almost as bad and waiting for wet paint to dry on a humid day.

At least you don't have to wait an extra 3 or 4 weeks for some big container boat to bring you your MINI across some awful giant body of water after it's already been to the west coast! Not to mention risk of dock strikes!

Hey, I've been to Cooper-tino!

Good luck and enjoy your MINI once it arrives!!!!

Hey, I just had my Mini delivered after waiting 8 weeks shipping it from the USA to the UK, the wait was horrible! Then when it finally arrived the battery was so totally dead it had to be replaced. Normally it doesn't take that long to ship a car overseas but US Customs held it up for a longer than normal inspection. Maybe it was the American flag on the roof that scared them

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm glad to know that I'm not alone . It's actually Cupertino, but thought it'd be fun to spell it that way . Be sure to honk if you see my '05 PW/PW MCS on the road!!

Ok, today is the 9th day. Still no word from the transport company. Does anyone know if they're suppose to give notice when they plan to deliver? I've been sitting here all weekend, afraid to miss a phone call .

What company is shipping it? Since there were a group of people taking delivery at the same time, the driver was in contact through phone with the person that set up the location. I got my MINI from Classic as well.

C&C Transport arranged the shipping throught the dealer. Not one phone call from anyone, not even from the driver. They were suppose to pick it up on the 27th, but instead, picked it up on the 28th. What transport company did you use and when did it ship?

I used Concours. It took 7 long days. The driver contacted the main guy in the group buy the day before he was going to be there. Then updated us as to what time he would be there that day. Is there a way you can contact the company and find out where the driver is?

Today is day 10. I called the carrier and they told me the driver was in Southern California and will be delivering the car tomorrow. I reminded him that I was originally told that the delivery would take place this past Sunday or today. So I'll believe it when my car is parked on the driveway. Here I am sitting at home and waiting for a phone call all weekend .

Well, lucky you, you got it in 7 days. So, what did you get? Oh, btw, thanks for the info.

When my sister got lazy a few years back and had her Volvo shipped from SB to connecticut it took almost a month to get there. Granted that wasn't a dealership shipping a new car but even so. I hope it shows up when they say it will, waiting for a new toy is never fun.
