Hello All

My reason for joining came after a spirited test drive this past Friday (26th of Dec) at our local MINI dealership. I first test drove a Red 08 MINI Cooper S, which I found enjoyable. After that I got ahold of a black 09 JCW Hardtop. What a Blast!! It reminded me of my Si hatch, except for the fact that this thing had torque to spare. I've since mulled around on here looking at postings of the new factory JCW MINI's and I figured this would be a pretty cool place to hang out and get some knowledge. This forum seems very informative and it's one of the reasons I decided to stay. Here's to learning a lot and hopefully meeting some interesting people who enjoy motoring

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I've been a gearhead forever and bought one of the first Cooper S's back in 2002. My wife and I both drove Minis (hers was an '04) until the birth of our second child necessitated a bigger car. Now she drives a Volvo. The toy cars are a '60 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite and '79 Ferrari 308 GTS.
Regarding my Mini, I had been servicing it at the dealer since new but, now the car is off warranty, am tired of being gouged by their ridiculous prices. So now I plan to do some maintenance myself with the help of this board.

Hello all

I'm ready for a fun car next time and the MCS is it for me. Brit, now living in Austin TX, old enough to have seen Cooper S's kicking butt in their class at Brands Hatch in the late 60s. Plus we always had pit passes, can still smell the Castrol R. BRG/W for me, naturally!

Basically I'm researching before placing an order (and working on my missus), this site is a mine of information, thanks y'all.

Hi all,
I'm new to the MINI world. Last week I purchased a MINI S Convertible. I'm still getting familiar with its many quirks. It is really fun to drive. I hope I can learn many new and interesting things from all the members on this board.

New guy

Hello,

I am browsing around at the Mini Cooper and checking out it's potential. My wife and I own an Toyota MR2 Spyder and a Subaru Outback Wagon. I am always on the lookout for that "third" vehicle.

Nice to meet everyone,
Lboy.

2002 Mini owner newbie here

I recently took ownership of my son's 2002 Pepper white Mini. All I can say is I haven't had this much fun driving since I had a new 74 Fiat X-19 (my age is showing here..). I have had a few minor problems but solutions were found on this forum. I didn't even have to ask questions, just read the posts!

Hi from new Mini owner

Hi, just wanted to drop a line here to sat Hello!!

Just purchased a 2002 MCS Red/BLK with Panoramic roof, 6spd, in really good shape. I am now 2nd owner and it only has 73,000 km's. I do want to find out all it has and saw another thread regards to Vin code...will drop a line there to Carter? and see if can get the skinny on all hidden things it has.

This site has LOTS of info..will be spending countless hours on this site doing research...lots of reading....but what else to do when we in Ontario get dumped on with LOTs of white stuff

Hope to get some pics soon and setup my profile more....

Thanks for reading...

Regards

Scott.

I had a 1976 X1/9 and loved it. If they were not so hard to find here in Canada, due to salt etc...I would have one now...much fun...first sports car I owned and a targa roof to boot!!! I always loved european sports/sporty cars...nice to know there are a few "OLDER" (but not too old) drivers who appreciate the mini too.

Regards

Scott.

I just recently joined because I've owned a mini for a little less than a year and feel that, even though I'm a girl, I should at least know what I'm driving. I've found a lot of answers on this website and figured I should join

Hello NAM members...just joined yesterday and got approved today...WOOHOO! I just picked up an 07 R56 S (Chili Red/White top w/ Sport, Premium, Convenience, LSD + Hypersport suspension, etc) to be used as my daily driver while I REALLY project up my S14 (96 Nissan 240sx for anyone not aware of what an S14 is...and FYI, I've been driving and modding one of these-the green one below-before everyone was driving their lil Hondas/Acuras). I must admit I'm ready to sell my S14 and project up the R56 instead...hahaha. But I'm going to have to RESIST REALLY hard and put more attention to my S14 instead. This, of course, will be done while I scheme up what I'll be doing to the mini.......(springs-for now, DDM intake, HKS SSV BOV, and a cat back exhaust-not sure which one yet). I've only had this car for 2 days btw .

My red S14 (the green S14 used to also be mine...but now is my lil bro's project):

The new DD:

LET'S MOTOR!!!

I've found TONS of great information here, along with some very friendly and patient people. Some of the threads get pretty long, and if you don't read through questions can get asked several times, but usually folks are very nice about it all. I've gotten a late start on NAM (had my MINI since Feb 07) but i'm making up for lost time. Thanks for all the GREAT information!
