Welcome to NAM
Greetings everyone. Always been a Mini/MINI fan. I still enjoy watching the "Flying Shoeboxes" race in the Vintage racing series (HSR, SVRA). I recently had my 2005 Subaru STi stolen. It was a fantastic car, fast, fun and a great track car. Dealing with a total loss with the insurance company was a [sarcasm]blast[/sarcasm], but the payoff check came in and my first and only replacement desire was a JCW MINI. I went to the dealer, and drove home in a 2009 Chili Red JCW a few hours later.
WoW! I'm super glad to now be part of the MINI community. It is one helluva fun car. Super fast, great handeling and way more comfortable than the STi. My wife loves it. I love it. I almost want to thank the car thieves for making me go through the mess. See ya on the road.

The STi is an incredible performance machine, but when it comes down to it is still an economy car. Sure it (and SRT4, EVO, etc...) can beat our MINIs in a straight line run, but overall the MINI is a more complete car. Of all the cars I have owned, the MINI is the best...economical, fun as hell, conversation starter, and surprisingly very flexible for hauling people and stuff...and the BMW designed architecture is solid and has nice fit and finish...
Hello NAM Members
Just joined the site last night to learn all I can about the MINI brand. I do not own a MINI yet but hopefully with college nearing an end that will all change. I am looking forward to reading the forums (and drooling over the photos) so that in a year or two I can join in on the fun. Happy Motoring!

Greetings peoples,
Long time lurker but first time poster. Can't wait to order my MINI and that should be in a few weeks due to some financial restraints.
This site is awesome and a blessing to all MINI owners.

Newby with the Silk green mini
Hello Everyone!
I am very new here, I just bought my mini in March! She is a used 2003 Silk Green Mini Cooper, just the base model, but I love her to death!! Her nick name is Penelope Pitstop, (yes I know what you all are thinking!!), I have always wanted a mini and when the Honda stared to die I told my husband that if we were going to buy another car we were going to get a mini! So I went on line and found one at a price that we could afford and proceeded to work my butt off to make it happen, and I am so glad that I did! I love this car!!!
However, because we did not buy it through a mini dealer, we did not get a whole bunch of information on how things work and what all the buttons and other gizmos work, can anyone help me??? One of the issues that have popped up is the windows, about a week ago I got in the car to leave work and the driver's side window would not go down (electric windows)
My husband could hear it trying to work but nothing, and then the next morning I go in to go feed the horses and PRESTO it worked again.
Then this week the same thing happened but it was the right side window and it wouldn't work for two days and then PRESTO went out to go to work in the morning and it was working!!
Everything else connected to the door was working except the window! We live about 1 1/2 hours drive form the nearest mini mechanic, my husband is very mechanically inclined, but a little hesitant to just start tearing into things without some guidance.
Looking foreward to hearing from anyone!!

New Owner of a 2003 MCS
I've been enamored of the Mini Cooper since the mid-sixties and I found one by chance this week. I took the plunge and now I'm the proud owner of a 2003 MCS, Silver with black suspenders. I am so pleased to have it and I look forward to driving it for a very long time. Glad I found this forum.
Another Step Closer
Well, made my final decision on a Lightning Blue Clubman
- sent the configuration to Mini of Pittsburgh... so, we'll see what happens!
I have to admit, I have never been this excited to even consider buying a car - what an experience!

Hello all! I'm currently learning to drive (I'm 20 but I just never trusted my parents teaching me.. Yikes, I could drive better than them and I only have like 20 hours of actual road time)
But hoping my first car will be a MINI.
Anyone know which MINI dealership would be the best to go to from East Texas? I'm pretty much at equal distance between Dallas and Houston so either way I'm gonna have to drive 100+ miles.

Apparently, late July and early August has been ripe for MINI recruitment!
Welcome to all the new NAMmers! I haven't been here too long myself, but I've learned a ton and found everyone to be very helpful! So welcome aboard, grab a cuppa, and wander through the vast collection of MINI info!

Wanted to extent a hello as I'm new to the forum. I had been lurking for a while gathering information on my new purchase, a 02' Cooper (black on black). Love the little car! I had always wanted one even before the new body style came out. I still want an original Mini at some point. So far the only thing done to my car is a set of 18" Konig wheels. Wanting to add a exhaust and maybe a intake. From what I'm reading the stock air box with a drop in filter does almost as good a job as most of the HAI's on the market.
Ahoy ahoy, long time lurker, recent owner. We just got a lovely British Racing Green Mini Cooper, cut down a bit on the luxuries, but of course still a great deal of fun.
We haven't named it yet (I think it's a girl, she's not so sure,) and we're not being too gentle about breaking it in, but it's been a blast, and we're just about halfway to the first service already.

Hello All -
After an agonizing 2 month MTF, finally got home a '08 LiB/DSC/Stripes MCS on 08/08/08 (the date was just a coincidence
). The wait was worth every nano second. Looking forward to happy days of blissful motoring.
Been a lurker on the site since before I ordered the car. Any suggestions on a good place to start off for the basic accessories?

I have always been afraid of my Moms' driving
Her claim is that she has never been in a accident but lord only knows how many pile ups she has left in her wake that she is not even aware of.
Oh and before I forget... I would like to welcome you and daericks, hmikki, SparklingPhil, navicaph, jdboy, RaptorCK and flymom150.
Happy Motoring!
Hello Everyone,
After being a longtime MINI fan (and a lurker of these parts for almost as long), I finally saved up enough to place an order on a 2009 PW/B MINI Cooper. I'm definitely excited to be part of such a knowledgeable and friendly community and I'm hoping that talking to you guys will make the wait go by that much faster.
In the meantime, I'll be rocking my Focus...
