Hi
Bob here from SF,Ca.
I've always thought Mini's were the most stylin' wheels on the road but I still haven't decided to spend the extra bucks for one.
With the financial crisis I don't know if now is a good time to buy?
Plus I'm not used to paying full MSRP for a car let alone an extra "cool factor" charge.

Hello
Hi All, Just bought an 02 MCS in liquid yellow / black roof. It is a kick in the a$$ to drive!
First mod's will be blacked out front grill and scoop and just ordered a Thule roof rack to carry my surfboard.

Great site you have here, have learned a ton in the short time that I joined.

Thanks !

Clueless
I'm totally clueless about Minis, but my mother owns one and for Christmas I wanted to install a short throw shifter and some thingy called a texas dampener by some company "Texas Speed Works" as some Mini tuners say these are great mods. It's a 2007 base convertible with the 5-speed manual gearbox. I'm completely confused with these cars as they seem to completely change every year. Yeesh! I suppose I should start a new thread?..

Hey all!

I'm new here as a potential MINI owner and I just want to say thanks for all of the great things I have learned about them on this site. Everytime I Google a question, it ultimately leads me back to this forum!

Hi All!!!

My first post but I've been a member here for a while. I do not currently have a full size Mini but I do have a HUGE collection of collectible Minis. Hope to some day have a real one. Wifey says if we get one it must be a Convertible. I did get a chance to drive one for 86 miles over a weekend.

possible new owner
I own a 2008 Clubman S. I just love it. Never have driven a convertible, but I love the way they look. Good luck on future purchase. After 29 years of marriage, better get what the wife likes!! Don

Bobsax,
Usually you will get what you pay for when you buy new (MSRP). Especially with a vehicle. I won't buy a used vehicle - either something was wrong with it or ownership was too expensive for the person, etc. Who knows. But why buy someone elses potential problem? Everyone who sells a car is a "car dealer" and they will tell you what you want to hear to make that sale. With MINI, the price on the sticker is the price you pay. These cars really sell themselves. If you haven't driven one, do it soon. You'll probably go back to the dealer with the same smile on your face that thousands have already experienced. Of course buying a used MINI couldn't be as bad as buying a used American made vehicle - they are built in England by people who really care about what they are doing. Honestly, I can't see why anyone would trade in or sell a MINI.

You Can't Have Mine!
With 307,000 miles on my 2002 MC, I'm not sure how many offers I'd get.
But, no matter; - I'm not about to part with it!

Hi guys,
just thought i'd say hello from the UK, our daily runner is a 2005 S convertible in Hot Orange,(NEMO) only had it four weeks and loving every minute of it, we previously had a 2007 Clubman 1.6D in pepper white / black roof great looking car but too many little problems with it (mainly rattles and squeeks) so traded it in for the S.
I also own a Classic Mini City auto,(ELMER) that is in the process of getting ready for the 5Oth birthday bashes this coming year.
all the best Andy
below is a pic although dark of them both together

Hi, OxyBlueCoop!
You said, "307k Details please!"

I'm relatively new here, but if you look back at my first post, #1500 on Page 60 and a couple others in this thread, you'll get some idea why I feel as I do about my car. Just returned 2 weeks ago from a 3200 mile round trip to Florida for Thanksgiving. Lots of total miles, but there's nothing I know of that even seems to be 'getting tired' on this car.

Welcome to NAM-img_0803.jpg

Hello all, New owner of a '72 Classic Mini. I live in St. Louis and travel allot. I think 220 nights in a hotel last year. Its a daily driver (since I am not home allot) and a project car. Will get pictures up when possible. It got a 998. Wondering if there is a place where I can research parts / vin # and so on to get a production date and so on. Anyways, glad to be part of the club.

Hey guys, I'm Thomas, 17, from South Carolina. I am looking to buy a Mini Cooper and these forums have provided an endless supply of helpful knowledge to me. I've been driving a lifted and modded wrangler for a year but I am about to go off to college and I think a Mini may be the thing for me. I want something that is as fun to drive as my Jeep, gets great gas mileage, and can haul bikes and kayaks...looks like the mini should be great.

I went to the dealership and sat in one today, but I'm looking to buy a used one for $10k-$12k (I believe cash should help the deal ). So I'll officially be on the Mini badwagon if I decide to sell my Jeep soon and find a Mini.

Well, finally made it. Went for an oil change and there it sat. Giant arrows pointing, neon lights flashing and Wiley Coyote ready with a pen and sales form. Boy what easy prey I was...but like the roadrunner let's see you catch me now.

Hello Mini World! I've been lurking and learning for a while now. About to order a MC or maybe a MCS. Actually my daughter is getting the car and I told her I would let her use my Audi A4 Convertible and switch with her when she wants.
I'm on the fence about one thing. Either MC or MCS will be fairly nicely equipped and have Auto Transmission. Wondering if the MC with an auto is just too slow and MCS needed. She won't be racing or anything. Just your average 20 something driving in normal suburban driving. Got to figure out if the MCS is just more engine than needed and if the MC is good enough. Have driven an MC but not the S yet. Hard to tell in just a short test drive but the MC Automatic seemed like it would be good enough. I guess I will read more opinions in the Cooper 2007+ forum as there are many on this one topic. It definately is fun playing with the configurator!
