Welcome to NAM
Sort of Newbie
Been reading posts for a few weeks and posting a few replies, her and there; but never formally introduced.
A number of weeks ago we went to Washington DC from our home in the NY suburbs. We traveled the length of NJ, DE, and MD into the DC area. Remarkably, we had 41.7 mpg on the trip down. Car had 1200 miles on it, and no traffic on the way down. We have never set the OBC since delivery and we have had 35.6 mpg overall since we got the car. Wife uses it to commute to work and has some days with bumper to bumper traffic. We also had very bad traffic returning from DC so that is figured into the grand total equation.
Needless to say, every opportunity I have to drive "her" car, I do; even if it's to go get her gas. Because of work, I drive a Subaru, but if MINI had an awd model, I'd trade-in in a heartbeat.
I've been driving since 1969 and have owned a few radical cars, including the very first Mazda RX-3 and a Mazda Cosmo, both w/ rotary engines, but nothing compares to driving the MINI. Whatever safety concerns I had in the beginning (sharing the road w/ 80,000 trucks) went out the door first time I got into one at the dealer.
When we tell people we gat a new car and it's a MINI, there isn't a person that doens't say "Ohhhhhhhh, I love that car!"
R56 MCa BRG/W, NAV, DSC, Cold Weather, Premium, fogs, brushed alloy, checkered sport seats, & looks from everyone.

Hi,
Have had my 2007 Sidewalk Edition for a week yesterday, love it! Contrary to what the salesman said, you're not allowed to actually drive on the sidewalk, but it's nice to know you could. what a blast! Think I've already sold another one to a friend for his wife...ah, midlife crisis, it's great!

Love my new '07 MCS!
Hi folks! Picked up my new Laser Blue MCS 2 weeks ago--love it! I'm techie so got it with all the "toys": Bluetooth, IPOD integration, Nav System, etc. but 6-speed for more fun. Also blueline interior with brushed alloy plus white bonnet stripes. Have already ordered boot stripes to match.
Has it really only been a month since I bought my 07 MY/B MCC??? Feels like I have never been without it! Have loved every minute of drive time in this car. I have quite a commute and sit in traffic more than I care to, but with the top down and the radio up it seems less painful!!! Looking forward to meeting up with the STLMINI club soon!!!
brand new Mini owner
I hope this is the right place to post my message. I'm savy when it comes to buyihg a great motor car the Mini, but, still not to internet savy! Anyway I purchased my mini from checkered flag mini in Virginia Beach, Va.
the experience was great to say the least. There were no pushy sales people from the moment we entered till the delivery it was fantastic.
I'm 59 years young and every day driving to work I'm getting younger.

Hello, everyone! I will soon be a new Mini owner. I put a deposit down on one that is on its way in almost two weeks ago. Awesome how you can track them! However, when I went to the Wallenius Wihlmsen site (WW), it has no record of my VIN number. Forgive me if this is just a ridiculous repeat, but will someone give me some insight as to why? MiniUsa site still says it's en route.
Oh, I hope to soon be driving a Laser Metallic Blue '07 S Convertible, black bonnet stripes, premium, cold weather, and sport packages.
I can't take the wait any more . . . and it hasn't even been two weeks! I was really hoping to get it by this week-end because the weather in Chicago is absolutely gorgeous!!

I just thought I would say a quick hello to all. This is my first post, and first time really looking through this site. I must say...I'm impressed and I can see myself spending alot more time here in the future. It looks like a very informative place on anything and everything that is MINI.
I am the very proud owner of an 06 Cooper SOHO edition. Owning a MINI has been an absolute blast and I don't know how I ever lived without one!!!

Hey! and Thanks!
Just joined. My MCS "Sparky" (Sparkling silver, 6-spd, white top, bonnet stripes, all packages, GPS, HD & Sirius sound), is on the boat in Southampton, the lovely Madame Butterfly, and soon on its way to Port Hueneme, I hope. Ordered at Mini of Mountain View on 4/30, built on 6/4.
Thanks for all the info on how to find the VIN, ship and track progress across the pond.
I look forward to reading and sharing as Sparky scurries up the California coast.

First Time Post
Hi there! I'm new to the Mini World...we've had our new baby for 4 days (see the details below in my sig).
I’m attached to this car more than I thought was possible…I’m lovin’ the drive to and from work everyday.
My one CON about the car is: I drive way over the speed limit and I just want to keep on driving and not go into work. I just can’t help myself ::grinning from ear to ear::

Hey!
Just joined. We've had our Cooper since '02. -Well the '02 was a lemon, so they ultimately replaced it with an '03, exactly the same white over blue. Our neighbors would never know they were different cars.
Anyway, that one is my wife's. I had a Mk IV VW Golf, that I actually preferred to the MC. When I traded that in I got a brand new '06 XTERRA. I wanted the off-roading ability for fishing on the beach and hauling the dog.
It's been a little over a year and, though I like the X, I just don't love it. I miss the small, zippy car. I miss hammering off-ramps.
I test drove a new VW GTi, a new MC and a new MCS. So far I think I actually prefer the MC. I've built about fifty on the Configurator. The research (which is half the fun) continues.
It feels like it may end back at the Mini dealer. I'll be in touch.

Hope to chat with ya'll soon.
My better half is allowing me more time to to test drive her Red Hot "Baby"!
