Welcome to NAM
Hi,
Just saying hello for the first time- I've been trolling this site for while and have gleaned a lot of great information- I am this () close to getting my husband to agree to me ordering 'my' Mini- I've got it all picked out.
I just have a few questions....
Does anyone know whether the '08 price takes affect on when you order or when you take delivery...in other words, if I order in December, but she doesn't arrive until after the new year- does the '07 pricing hold?
And, has anyone had to 'work' at convincing their spouse or significant other that a Mini is the best choice for them? I'm really having to 'sell' this to my husband. I have my heart set and I'm not backing down! I'm ready to resort to "If I die tomorrow and never get a Mini you'll feel guilty for holding me back!"
Any suggestions for making my case would be appreciated!
Thank you

No, he has not. We're far from a dealer, so it's not easy to get there-but basically I'm the only one who will be driving this- so I'm trying to convince him on the financial end- good gas mileage, holds resale value....etc.
CarJoy
Hello! I'm new to the NAM but not to Mini. My 2007 Nitefire Red Cooper is my second. My first was a 2003 Indie Blue/White Cooper. Looking forward to reading some of the posts and making some new Mini friends!
Carjoy, welcome to the forum, you will find lots of information and some really good people on NAM.
Since your a 2 MINI owner, I hope you have some good pictures and stories to share.
Pictures of your MINIs and travels would be great too.

Hello everyone. I am a (hopefully) future MINI owner, located in NH. I am looking to pic up a project 74 that is mostly apart. I'm an auto mechanic (its the family business), and I've come here looking for advice, I'll be making a thread in the Classic MINI section. Been a life long MINI fan, since before I knew what a car was.
Hello from a 2nd time owner
Hello out there. I am getting back into the Mini community after a 12 month hiatus.....basically my wife ran over a piece of wood and totaled our 14 month old MCSa.
I am surprising her Wednesday with a new 2007 car that just arrived at the dealership in any case I'm new to this forum but was a consistent contributor to the Mini2 forums in the past.
Just wanted to say hi from San Clemente, CA
Regards,
Paul

Hi,
I just wanted to say hi, I've been a MINI owner since June and just joined the site. I love my car, it's the funnest car I've ever owned, even more so than my 02 BMW 325Ci which was a lot of fun to drive. Anyway, cheers!

Mini Folks -
I've owned an MCS for the last 2 years as a daily, but I tune and manufacture parts for VWs and Audis for a living. The MINI scene is definitely something that I look forward to moving into; the crowd seems much more mature and easy to get along with.

Glad to have finally been activated. I am a new Mini owner as of 10/16/2007. After 20 years of street rod building, I decided to satisfy my wife and I with a mid life crisis car (and a quick one at that). Laser Blue S (white roof).

Hello from New England
Hello everyone,
I decided recently to pick up a R53 Cooper S as a DD, planning to have one in the spring and I cannot wait. I was going to just get an 03 but after reading on here about the 05/06 being a better pick (plus the engine fire issue is pretty scary!) I will be going with an 05.
I'll also be picking up a GM6 (93-01 2-Door) Impreza to build up for rally and track fun. STi swap, all that good stuff. I'm a Subaru fanatic but the gas mileage of AWD cars isn't good enough for me to use it as a DD. Plus, all the money that will be going into the car, I'd be nervous using it as a DD, too many bad drivers out there these days.
Anyway, so far I'm really enjoying the forum. The more I read up on the MINI the more I love it, it's definitely growing on me! I'm also very surprised at how reliable they seem to be seeing how they're a BMW product (I've heard and experienced many BMW horror stories). I've always been wary of German vehicles, stunningly beautiful vehicles but from my experience not all that reliable which is unfortunate.
See ya around!

Not quite my first post, but still...
Going to order a 2008/2009 MINI Cooper S with cash. Just graduated, and found myself a slick new job, so hopefully I have a shiny new Cooper S soon!
It's time to put my 1992 Mazda Protege to rest... hopefully it will last until then! 203,000 miles and still chugging!
