new here, too

Hi! On January 15th, I bought my very first MINI. It's a 2007 PW/B MCSC 6-speed with stripes, LSD, DSC, Sidewalk & JCW packages. It's got all the other packages as well, plus a front strut brace. It was preowned for about 6 months, with only 6400 miles. Garmin Nav was installed a week later and it's definitely a plus to own! I love my MINI! I can't wait to drive around this summer with the top down. Oh! I'm already planning on driving out to the Magical Mystery Mini Tour in San Francisco in September (Sept 5-7, 2008). Wish I could meet up at the dragon this year, but alas, other plans are in the works. So, hopefully next year I'll meet y'all at the dragon

I heard about NAM through MMMC (Michigan MINI Motorin' Club), which I signed onto before I even picked up my MINI. One of the members, Bill, had a photo of my MINI from before I ever saw it and before I had the super large checks removed from the visor plate and the mirror caps (they didn't match, the white clashed with the PW) -

But, the small checked door handles and tire valve covers match perfectly and fit so well. It's got a little ska attitude

Guess I'm ready to try this!

Hey Yall, been reading the posts the last couple of days and figured I ought to give it a try. After watching the Mini's on the Dragon the last 4 years, I decided to get one. Ordered on 2/16 a '08 MCSC, Pure silver, Blue top and Blue leather interior, black stripes. Convenience, Premium, Sport, and Cold weather packages. Steptronic auto transmission, chrono package, chrome line interior and exterior. R85 17" chrome rims w/ run-flats. Silver High-gloss interior. She's due to arrive in CHS on 3/16!!!! I can't wait to pick up the Evil Queen!

Hello all
I've been lurking on this forum quite awhile
I'm about to graduate college and have been looking at a few cars to get
My options have been narrowed to an B6 or B7 A4, Mk5 GTI, or an '05 or '06 MCS. All manual of course
I've driven the GTI but I'm still not sold
Just my thoughts

Test drive everything. See what feels best. I just picked up my 08 MCS last night and i absolutely LOVE it. Love it so much that it's not an "it" anymore - she's either Emma or Zoe (haven't decided yet)!

Besides, I bet A4, Mk5 or GTI have cool motoring clubs like us MINI drivers do! =)

Hi all

I am a lurker no longer. I have been reading NAM posts since I got my pre-loved MINI , Allie, last February 2006. I found her in a storage yard full of Jeeps where she had been traded in. Since I got her gently used, I am still learning new things about her with the help of the great info here. In the last year, Allie has new bonnet stripes courtesy of my friend, Phillip, at Arizona MINI Owners Club and her 3 turtle window decals plus a full checkup from her friends at the BMW/MINI hospital.

Welcome Miniturtlede! You should also check out the Dynamic Mini Collective at www.dynamicminicollective.org. It is also an Arizona-based MINI club with fun runs, meet-n-greets, etc. We love to meet ya in person!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Welcome to all the new posters since I got here.
The Magical Mini Mystery tour sounds like a blast. I am still working on getting to my first big tour. I am thinking Mini Takes the Mountains in Colorado. I hope I got that name right.

I found some pics this morning and after a little head scratching I got one loaded into my signature. I also put some on my gallery. The two dogs are what Allie calls her backseat drivers and interior decorators. It is hard keeping yellow dog hair out of a black interior.

Greetings, Jan. I'm pretty new here, too.

Your English is quite good, and I'm confident much better than most NAM members' German!

Waiting for Tuesday!

This is my first post as an almost MCS owner. The Otello docked in NY (NJ?) last Sunday and the car is supposed to be at my dealer's today. For some reason they won't have it prepped until Tuesday. This will be my wife's daily driver so it had to reflect her wants, but the next one is mine! I'm sure it will be a blast for me as well, but I would have chosen the manual transmission.
Ours is a Pepper White/Black automatic with Premium and Cold weather packages, Comfort Bluetooth/USB, DSG, rear fogs and anthacite headliner.

I have a question that I haven't seen addressed anywhere. Does anyone have any experience with using a MINI as a TOAD vehicle, that is a vehicle towed behind a motorhome? Thanks for any help!

Steve
