New Girl here... opinions needed

Hello,
I have my eye on a 2008 turbo charged Mini. BUT.... it has 166K miles on it and that terrifies me. It has all dealer repair receipts, (he says) and its very clean.
What are your thoughts on this? Thanks N

That's almost 28,000 miles a year. Well over the national average for mileage. What is he asking for it? Ask him to see the receipts. Try to get a CarFax on it. You may want to look around for a lower mileage car. It is the beginning run of the 2nd Generation cars so they were still trying to iron out the bugs. Figure out what your budget is and get the newest, lowest mileage car you can for your money.

Welcome to NAM! Definitely some high mileage MINI's. I'd try to look for some lower mileage ones if possible.

There are a ton of MINIs for sale out there. I'd look for something lower mileage. No matter what take it to a mechanic and have them look it over before you buy, don't ever trust carfax. At worse they will find something wrong and you can either pass or use it to negotiate a better price.

That has a bit of mileage for an 08' R56 MCS, if its had the clutch done and all the other issues like thermostat housing, turbo lines, water pump, etc done and really good price, night be worth it. But otherwise it might be better to get lower mileage or go with a Gen 1 2005+ R53 MCS.

Thanks and if you need anything.

If you're going to buy a used MINI...have a plan for the maintenance of the car ahead of time. If you're not going to do your own repairs then buying a MINI that has a warranty is your best option. I'd avoid the high mileage MINIs.

The MINI is a lot of fun to drive...good luck in your search for the perfect MINI!
