03 jcw. slow off the line!

Ive had my mini for about a week and havent gotten use to driving it fully. Im not sure if its just me or a common issue but its slow as can be off the line. When i dump the clutch and try and take off my rpms drop to almost nothing and it hesitates. Its quick once it gets going. The mods done to it are aluminum flywheel and 2% reductuon crank pulley. Can this acount for the issue? Im thinking it could also be the bscold air intake soneone stole the jcw intake so its got some stupid pipe and cone in the engine compartment sucking up hot air. I bought a stock one but havnt gotten it yet . Any thoughts??

I'm going to say the aluminum flywheel may be the issue. With the lighter weight they usually require higher revs to start/launch properly. There is less rotating mass to get the car going.

Valid points. Just looking in at the pulley i can tell its dampened. Has a large ring of softer material on it similar to my small block chevy. Im guessing the flywheel, ill just have to creep off the line stop light to stop light or launch haed as hell lol.

Maybe you had your ASC/DSC on , on that occasion? When the ASC comes on it cuts the power quiet strongly, even with it on and shifting from 2nd to 3rd the light flickers and revs drop down.

Actually My dsc doesnt seem to be doing anything at all. After driving the car for a week ive not seen any light ,indicator or anything come on for dsc. If it was disabled could it be causing this problem im havin with shifting into first from a stop? Ive tried flickig the switch up or down, holding the switch up or down but it doesnt seem o be active. Is there a module or harness that i can check to see if it was disabled? The previos owner didnt know much about the mini so im thinking it was done before him so that rules out asking.typically if someone disables the system whats the most common way to go about doing it? I live in southern california and dont really need it as a safety feture. Anyhelp is greatly appreciated.

Check fuses. Flipping the toggle for DSC should cause the indicator light to illuminate presuming the car is DSC-equipped. What you are describing sounds exactly like how it feels to have DSC engage while you are trying to accelerate rapidly.

Fixed it!! By pass valve. Got a detroit tuned, slapped it i. And god damn! Hauling *** now! The old valve was stuck half way open, found this out after i stalling a boost gauge and seen that i had only 6psi. After the new valve im at 14psi. So all is well, i had thought my jcw was well done clone till now. After fizing it the seller did mail me my jcw paper work. With the jcw supercharger pulley, crank pulley2 percent, jcw head pacage im pretty happy with it.

Now that its running well im working on the exhaust. I have electric cutout pipe flanged at the the straight pipe,, y pipe comming off the cutout, then two pipes leading straight back. . Om thinking of running some vwry quiet glasspacks, 24" cases since with the push button cutout i can go to superloud mode. That or running supertrapp difusers out the back.all piping is stepped up to 2 1/2 inch. Suggestions? Should i go with the dual glasspacks or dual supertrapps? Sorry fpr the typosy phone screens cracked !
