"Those waiting for a 2013" Support Group
I fully suspect mine won't arrive in Southampton to make a ship this week. I'm going to catch the Integrity make a 22-day voyage around the world before it pulls into Baltimore.
My MA said not to worry, those estimated trip days are often changed once a shop departs the port.

Mine is even patient with me about me changing my mind on the dealer options. No, don't do that.... okay, go ahead and do that, no don't, yes do.

My MINI is on the Mignon which docked in Nova Scotia today, scheduled to be in NYC on Wednesday. My MA emailed me today and expects it will be ready for pickup at the dealer at the end of next week... I'm hoping it may be even earlier.
I'm not too good at math - Is that less than the 37 days it took for my car to get from the date ordered to when it was loaded on a ship?
That's some good figurin' you done there, Spa !
Yeah, pretty amazing one MINI can take 37 days and another 12. Just think of it as they were taking time to make sure yours was PERFECT.
Same here. It surprises me there are any MAs that aren't super enthusiastic about their jobs, especially for those of us willing to wait 2-3 months for a custom car. Mine has taken the position it seems "Thanks for the order. I'll call you when it gets here."
Threaten them with poor survey scores. They way they all approach those surveys with customers, appears their jobs depend on it.
I'll tell you a secret: I was going to order White Silver/Chili Red, but I had to have a sunroof. I didn't think the impact of the red roof would be as strong with a sunroof in that color combination, so I ordered all Chili Red instead.
I agree. The sunrooof takes up about half of the area of the roof. It would make a white roof seem half white and half black and not in a checkered way. If you're going with a sunroof, I think they look a lot better on a darker colored roof. Solid decision on your part.
Wow... I was having trouble getting a ride to the dealer and my MA offered to pick me up so I can get my Clubman today!
That's how you get 10's on the survey.
I will be behind the wheel of my new baby in about an hour. Woot!

Today's update on my MINI:
866-ASK-MINI Automated Voice – At port, awaiting a ship
Owners' Lounge – At the VDC
866-ASK-MINI Customer Relations – Out of VDC and released to truck
My own eyes – At the dealer
The MA originally said 6-8 weeks, and it looks like he was exactly right: Hopefully, I'll have the car a few days short of 8 weeks. If I ever go through this insanity again, I know whom I'll believe!

Our service maintenance center, (Portland, OR), have always been superb about offering to pick us up at the airport, or provide us a ride and subsequent pickup when we take Poppett, (my Honey's hardtop), in for service. My MA has already offered to have someone pick us up at the airport when Scarlett arrives and is ready to be picked up. That makes a huge difference for us as we live in another state that does not have a Mini dealership. We both work, so we both have to make arrangements with our schedules ahead of time to travel the 350 or so miles for anything having to do with the car. Any time they step above and beyond the call to accomodate the fact that we have to travel that far, they keep these customer's loyalty.
