I had actually forgotten there was another status after "released to carrier". Guess I'll have to call ASKMINI again and find out what the current status is and when it switched, if it's in another status now. THANKS !

 

My MINI is at the dealer and will be ready for me on Wednesday.

Anyone hear of a coating that the dealer offers for the exterior (protection from elements) and interior (prevents mold)? It also includes 5 year coverage where they will fix any dings or paint defects wherever your car is.

 

Yes. IMO, waste of money. Use that money toward a clear bra instead. You take good care of your MINI, keep it clean and waxed, you don't need that "exterior protection" stuff.

 

ASKMINI says I'm awaiting transportation and my MINI arrived at the port either Wednesday or yesterday.

I bought from MINI of South Atlanta and he (his name is either Marcus or Goat) will arrive in Brunswick, Ga (a couple hours away). I got all the updates this afternoon and then what do I park next to this evening? A '13 Countryman. Didn't help calm my excitement AT ALL!

I have a 'date' there tomorrow at noon, still don't expect to place my order yet, but will continue to fine tune my list of 'wants'. Going to test drive the JCW R60 to test out the sport suspension and hope that I don't fall in love with it (the JCW part) because I don't want to spend that much.

We'll see if my MA wants to try and deal (and if I feel like playing along).

 

I should warn you about the contagious nature of the JCW but I won't.

Who is your "date" with ? I highly recommend the MA that has sold us most of our MINIs... Jeremy. If he sells you a MINI, tell him I referred you. Might earn me another $500 off mine.

Sorry. Meeting with Jeff, again (met with him in January - my wife and I really like him). I may ask in they have a non-JCW with the sport suspension, just so I don't get any crazy ideas. I have a pretty long list of things to check out now that I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger.

Having a hard time figuring out how to GET THERE (1 hour away) and pick up a vehicle. Clearly this is going to involve two drivers.

 

Either that, a very expensive taxi ride, or a rrrrrreally long walk.

 

That's what worries me also... Im 2 hours from my dealership.. I have a little time yet but still finding someone to take me might be tricky..lol

 

I am so jealous of so many of you having your mini days or hours away! Congrats. At least mine is on a ship. Hopefully I'll have it by July 20.

Fair enough..

I also added Geico's unexpected extended repair plan rather than the Mini extended warranty program. It costs $50/year. Quite the deal given the reviews of it.
