Went to see where my car is again, and now its on the Parsifal... Must have gotten bumped off the Endurance and ended up back in Southampton. Hopefully it has no water damage. Or more likely than floating back across the ocean, WW's tracking didn't update on my car until today. At least now its on its way over (hopefully...)
I like it if you tie some other carbon fiber bits into the exterior. Why... are you putting one on yours ??
Agreed. It needs to be tied together. Just having one carbon fibre bit on a car looks kinda ridiculous. At the same time, carbon fibre everything goes over the top...unless it's a McLaren F1
Told ya. Your neurosis was rewarded handsomely. There's a good life lesson in there somewhere!
I'll bet WW doesn't scan the cars until they are out at sea so as not to slow down the loading process. Then they reconcile those results to the manifest MINI gave them back at the port. Once confirmed then they finally upload the VINs to their website. Hence the variable delay after leaving port.

That is what I am thinking. Either that or they do it with paper and then send the info back to base with fax, or the "message-in-a-bottle" method.

That's not always true. My VIN was on the WW site as soon as it was booked - a couple of days before departure. The car also cleared Customs somewhere in the middle of the North Atlantic.
All of these "systems" are designed to make you crazy.
I'm on the Endurance as well! This is the 2nd MINI I've had to wait for and it's a bit crazy Hopefully I can take delivery before the end of the month.
MA expects mine to arrive on Friday, hopefully pick up on Saturday. JCW Aero kit is on back-order and should be here mid next month and they'll paint it and put it on then.

Yup. Tracking now. South-west of the Isle of Wight. I suspect tracking will go away in the next few hours as it enters the Celtic Sea.
EHans, good timing on your comment about Celtic Sea.
I just learned today that I'm on the California Highway which left Southampton last Friday, whoohoo Arrives at Brunswick the 27th so still a chance to have it by the 4th!
But when I try to track it, it hasn't been seen since Saturday I was starting to worry if it had sunk!
What is the deal with tracking while in the Celtic Sea?

Dunno. If you zoom the map way out, you can see what grids are tracked. It should show the Celtic sea, just not a lot past it. Maybe the California Highway is captained by the same guy that captained the Couger Ace.
BTW just wanted all of you on the east coast to know you suck with your 8-10 day sail times. We west coasters deal with 3-4 weeks to get here.
I'm going to sell my current home in a few months. Houses are very cheap here.... you're welcome to put in a bid and move East. It's nearly 4,000 square feet, granite counters, stainless steel Gold Series Whirlpool appliances, hardwood floors, five bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, finished basement, fireplace, an office, two living areas, humungous master bedroom and bath.... $280K.

Maybe we can just swap homes !
I think you'd be very disappointed with what $280k gets you here. Think "trailer park."
