Had to do some thinking on this.
My last speeding ticket was in 1973.
Was on my way to Daytona to watch the 24 hours race.
Was coming up north on I-95, in my 1964 Austin Healey 3000.
Was going 90+.
Didn't have radar dectors in those days.
FHP got me at 92 mph, wrote me up for 65.
The ticket costs less than a $100.00.
Don't know how I've gone this long without one.

I'm sure they have served the purpose for which they were intended.
I know my son learned a big lesson from them.
As you stated, they are not using the cameras for revenue purposes but for safety.
If that system was used here in the states it whould be a perfect way for the local governments to make money.
