Yeah...I'm half expecting my girl to be ready tomorrow as well. Figures. I haven't heard anything from the OL or my MA since last Friday.

Current status on the OL is that I'm still on a boat, even though I've been docked for days now. 866-ASK-MINI says I'm "In Transit" and to call my MA. I should, but I don't want to bug her too much. She knows how antsy I am.

Congrats on the super-fast delivery.

ASK-MINI for mine still says "Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel."

OL says it's at the VDC. Been there since the 20th.

My wait is just beginning

Finalized my order last Tuesday. Was told by my MA that it went into production when he called me Friday morning. The OL switched over to "Scheduled for Production" that evening. The VIN showed up over the weekend.

Tried the automated and human "ASK-MINI" options today. All that is in the system is estimated completion on May 9th. Hope that will get more specific as the time goes by.

Trying to decide if it is a cool thing or worrying thing to have it go through Oxford the week of the Royal Wedding. In some ways, so very British. In others, hung over, poorly rested or distracted assembly workers is never a good thing!

What has been other's more recent experience on the days between initially going to the production state and when it really goes down the line? Are the days quoted in earlier pages of this thread include weekends? (Are they running the plant 7 days per week?) May 9 is 19 calendar days, 13 week days from the start date of April 21 the ASK-MINI assistant told me was in the system.

I don't think weekends are included, 13 weekdays sounds a little long but not abnormal, mine was 8.

Wonder if they are building this Friday, or if the entire country gets a day off for the wedding??

Aren't they getting married in the states?? I don't know I'm not really following the whole thing..

By the wayyy, when I did talk to my MA today, the latest status in his sytem was "Dispatched to AG" which neither of us had any clue what it meant...

I was given the standard 6-8 week line in the last week of March, followed by "no, 8-10 weeks due to the situation in Japan." However my car hit the VDC at the 4 week point.

I'm getting the same disconnect. OL says VDC, but ASKMINI says awaiting transport.

Well, placed my order today, so this is my first post. 2011 MINI Cooper S, BRG with Black roof. My car is scheduled to be built in 5/18 I think, at least that's what it looked like on the computer while the MA was placing the order.

Sarcasm?

They're getting married in Westminster Abbey. Although they probably won't get the day off, you can count on production stopping for a good 4 hours while all the workers are huddled around televisions.

Hahah, oh all I know is I saw on the news "You'll never guess where the Royal Couple was spotted!" and thought they were on this side of the pond based on my apparently incorrect intuition..

But lol, maybe they're accounting for the wedding in hoyme's production time!

Huh? These two statuses seems to be quite the opposite...did you call your MA to see what's going on?

It should get to New York on May 5 (cinco de Mayo)....I'll have to have some Mexican food to celebrate.

Yeah....not a lot of sleep....it's 5:35am for me. So excited!!!

I'm doing the following:
  1. I'm printing out my checklist for when I see the car. Thanks to folks on this forum for listing all the things out
  2. Pack check book.
  3. Since I'm getting in April, I'm double checking the amount I should be paying when I get there. So I know in advance all the numbers are correct. With my contract, I have the option of getting a lower price on the day of delivery depending on the incentive programs available.
  4. Send E-mail to my manager letting him that I'm leaving work a bit early today.
  5. Wear my Vibrams with me today. I'll have a better feel of the pedals with these shoes.
  6. Pack camera.
  7. Make sure camera battery is charged.
Ya...you can say I'm prettttyyyy excited!!

The Question: Are you going to eat it in your new Mini?

Well you'll be able to daydream about your MINI sitting on the dock while you take your final..

I haven't seen this before. That's pretty funny.

The real question is: Is the final you have on May 5th, the last final? So afterwards, you can enjoy your Mini. Otherwise, it's going to suck while you're studying and your Mini hanging out in the parking lot.
