Where are the picsss?

 

I finally picked up my beautiful new MINI on Monday. They asked me to come back yesterday to get oriented with all the bells and whistles, and boy, there are a lot bells and even more whistles! Went for a ride in the country on Monday with my girlfriend and bombed around some yesterday. I'm down now to about a quarter tank of gas after traveling over 500 Km. I'll be figuring out the consumption rates and things when I fill up. I'll also be posting a new thread when we get a decent day to take pictures. Sure is nice to have Maxx home, he's one fun guy to have around!

Congrats!!! I'm planning to drive my Mini around a LOT when I get it too!! I have a friend from high school, he's a car nut, so I'm going to drive it over there to show him. He lives in Sacramento, about 2 hours from where I am...too bad it is only 2 hours away...want it to be farther....hahahaha.

 

Congratulations on your new MINI! That is really exciting. Now both you and your husband can enjoy getting to know the new family member together.

My MINI is on the California Highway and was scheduled to arrive at the GA port today!!
Anyone tracking that ship?

 

Yup. It's where my MINI is too.

It's at the Brunswick port now, though I do not believe it has docked yet. I'm not sure if it is waiting on a spot or what. It is no longer listed as moving, but the tracker hasn't been updated in about an hour.

Got there a little late, but on the right day. I'm sending my MA an email as soon as it is out of port to see if he can provide another update.

Just called "Ask MINI" to get a status. The automated system couldn't understand my VIN number so I got transferred to a live person. It took her a while to find my information and when she came back she told me it went into production on 4/11 and she didn't have any more information. I asked her to please check again because when I called the automated system yesterday it told me my MINI was in the paint shop. She said she was sorry but she didn't have any more info. I thanked her, hung up and called back. This time I got the automated system to understand my number and they told my my MINI is on it's way to the dock for shipping!
I guess my live person was a newbie.....like me.

 

Woahh fast! I just called and mine is in the body shop!

 

Your car might be riding with mine on the Torrens to Baltimore tomorrow...though I dont' know which port is used for Philadelphia. I'm in Chicago. Your car might be there at the dock already with mine cause ASKMINI only told me yesterday it was at the dock, but this morning I punched my VIN into the WW shipping website, and my car was already booked and received for the Torrens.

 

Wow! That's exciting! Sounds like they move them through quickly.
I'm not sure what port my dealership uses because I ordered it through email. I never got my port location info. My MA is off today. I think I'll give her a call tomorrow and see if she can give me any more info.

Haha, crazy! Yup and maybe on the same ship as Sammer, I don't know why a Philly car will go anywhere but the Port of New York (considering the port is actually in Jersey City)
