GoBadge and No MINI
Obviously I'm a bit excited about getting my MINI, I've even started purchasing mods for her already
My Go Badge just came in the mail today, and I have to say I'm really pleased with the product, packaging, shipping time and customer service at gobadges.com
The packaging and presentation is akin to what a MINI owner would expect when it comes to the branding, look and feel. I got to say it was kinda neat unwrapping (it came all wrapped up in nice black tissue paper, like a present)...in a little way it was like getting to open up one gift before Christmas.

From Top left and working your way down like a continuous "Z"
- the badge holder tin case
- the actual MINI badge (RED)
- the badge holder with magnetic hold on the front and Velcro attachment for the grill in the back (and has 1/4" rubber feet in the back to prevent rattling and scratching of the grill)
- a nice 10% discount coupon for my future orders
- the badge holder screw on ring that adds 2x's the assurance of keeping the badge in the holder...there is no way this sucker can accidentally come loose).

And a stubby antenna.
And a gps mount.
And a new gps.
And a new ecoRoute HD module.
And an offset front license plate holder.
And a K&N panel filter.
I won't have the car for at least another week.
I just bought carbon fiber mirror caps and the license plate holder, getting a stubby antenna for sure, and a radar detector within the next two weeks.. mine's not out of production yet :D
But I'm also picking up some tube doors for my Xterra! Sorry wallet

Just curious, which stubby antenna did you buy?
Hey our Mini's will probably ride the same car carrier to Pleasanton and Concord Mini. I live in San Jose....do you live in north bay?
Mine was in production March 31, complete April 6, and at the docks April 8.
That would suck.
I almost got mine at the Concord dealer. For some reason, they switched MA on me. The first I called, the guy gave me a pretty good price. Then I called the second time, and give them a counter, he switched me to a different MA. This second MA wouldn't even consider the counter. He told me their first offer was the best they can do, and not likely that I can get lower. I even asked him to check with his manager and he didn't even do that. Oh well, no biggie.

I'm from the east bay. The Concord dealership is about 15 minutes (8 miles) away from where we live. Pleasanton might be where I bring it for maintenance later on since it's closer to where I work.
Would you believe we just came from the neighboring Honda dealership, and almost came home with an Accord Coupe V6, before my wife and I decided to test drive the MINI? Wife always admired the classic Minis...and once I got to test drive the new MINIs, I too was hooked and I knew I had to have one.
Anyway, you're right...our babies might be on the same ride from the VDC, with yours being dropped off first
So far, my MA has been easy to deal with...and I hope it stays that way until we close the deal.

BoCRon and I are two peas in a pod.
I got the stubby from Craven, as well as the Flexpod Fixie GPS holder and the Platypus offset front license plate holder.

And a ALTA AccessPORT.
I'm assuming that it actually dropped cars off in Brunswick. It was never shown as being in the port in Brunswick on marinetraffic.com, but it was sitting there for about nine hours. Still lists Baltimore as its last port and now lists Charleston as it's next port.
Time to email my MA and see if he has an update for me, I guess.

I thought the AccessPORT wasn't compatible with the '11s yet?
BTW... in the paint shop!

List of things to be purchased:
1. Sport stripes: black with black pin. I think I like the Aesthetic Creations one.
2. Stubby antenna. Craven Speed
3. 27 mm socket for oil change
4. Motor oil
5. Oil filter kit
6. Fog lights, for mounting in front of the grill. Probably going to get yellow ones.
7. Hood scoop heat shield. I read in another post that the hood scoop could warp on the S models due to high heat.
8. Shade for windshield
9. Grocery bag holder or netting for the back
10. Replace run flats with real tires
11. Get a spare tire and the spare tire kit
12. Front license plate mount, I'm still debating on this. Since I don't even have a front license plate for my truck. I actually lost the front license plate since I haven't used it.
The stubby looks cool. I'll add that to my list of things to buy after I get my Mini. The only thing aftermarket purchase I made so far is the Zippee shade. I believe the tinting on the '11's is much darker than previous years, so a Zippee shade might be overkill.
List of things to be purchased:
1. Sport stripes: black with black pin. I think I like the Aesthetic Creations one. You can also look at local vehicle wrap places which fabricate their own stripes and graphics. May be cheaper in the long run.

5. Oil filter kit
6. Fog lights, for mounting in front of the grill. Probably going to get yellow ones.
7. Hood scoop heat shield. I read in another post that the hood scoop could warp on the S models due to high heat. Again, things may have changed on the '11's. I read somewhere that they are not 100% plastic anymore, but have an aluminum or some metal core that will keep its shape under high heat.
8. Shade for windshield
9. Grocery bag holder or netting for the back. I thought the nets came standard.
10. Replace run flats with real tires
11. Get a spare tire and the spare tire kit Then where will you install your subwoofer?
12. Front license plate mount, I'm still debating on this. Since I don't even have a front license plate for my truck. I actually lost the front license plate since I haven't used it.
I hear you, but I like the look of the offset one and it gives me a reason to talk to my MA about not drilling the front license plate holes.

I think a tune is definitely on the agenda, but I want to see if I'm satisfied with stock before I drop that cash.
Looking at ordering a stubby antenna from the MINI Motoring Accessories (I like that it's matte rather than glossy)...it seems to indicate that it will ship to the dealer for them to install. Anyone know if that is optional?
Vehicle Production Status (VPS):
"finished production and awaiting transport"
This was via the automated phone system, so I assume based on my research this means it is waiting to go to Southhampton.

For what it's worth, the Craven stubby is $20, has a matte finish, and will be installed in roughly 30 seconds by me.
hmm...every pic I see of the Craven stubby it looks glossy.
It's a rough powdercoated finish. Under a flash, it looks glossy. But it's not a high gloss smooth finish at all.
