I have a production number, dealership said that BMW wouldn't let them give my Black Challenge Wheels as opposed to Silver Challenge Wheels with my JCW Package, I think this is BS, I've seen cars with the black challenges on here and I want them, gonna try and get in touch with the factory.

Very nice! I hope they make it by tomorrow night - it's going to be close based on how far away they are...

NavyNUKE - Your dealer should be able to order any kind of wheels (and other options) they want. There's a dealer in Irvine or something that put the Black Bullet wheels on a few Clubmans, but on the configurator, the Black Bullets were only available with the White Silver package.

And, since you can put Black Challenge wheels on the configurator, there's really no reason why MINI shouldn't be able to make it happen.

The only excuse may be that they didn't have the driving lights or bracket in stock...but that's a horrible excuse since they knew your car was on its way.

Perhaps it got damaged on the truck from your VDC?

That's what I thought, but he brought me into the office and showed me their "configurator" and couldn't even do it there, don't know what the deal was, try to figure something out.

My MA told me that I have a confirmed factory production date of April 16, and that it should be the date it is finished and awaiting shipping.
So is a production date really the date it's done already? Or is that actually the date when they start building or 'producing' my car?
And am I a week 15 or 16 car?

I have no idea how long it's been down...did they ever make another video with the 2nd generation?

Here's part 1 and 2 of the original production videos I found on Youtube.

That's pretty dumb. You can do it online, but your dealer can't make it happen?

It's probably the driving lights holding it up. They did a slight refresh of the grill for the '11 and the old brackets don't work with it. They are having trouble getting them to the dealerships. I ordered mine from outmotoring.com, and had them in 3-4 days. I'm having them installed tomorrow at a local MINI service place, it will be a few hundred less than the dealer wanted anyway and I'm still getting the OEM lights.

Great find! Thanks! I too was bummed about the broken link on the MINI site. This helps pass the time waiting for our car.

By the way, did you notice that first year R56 Mellow Yellow interior colorline?

Someone told me mine, but you can either call up the 800# and ask them and they might know the name of the boat you r car is being loaded on, or there may be a way to use the VIN and look up what boat it is getting on...I did not figure it out myself so I am just guessing here.
