Well I sure hope my boat watching is done....appears to have finally found a spot to park and unload. Now we just wait for that call from the MA to let us know it is time to take her home

Anyone know?
Just a guess, but I'd bet it's pretty pro forma stuff. Probably just comparing manifests and attesting to this and that. I'd guess it's done on land before they even reach port, with the option to board and look around if they deem it necessary. As long as there weren't any Don Carlos pit stops in Yemen. Course that would have been quite a detour...

Don't know, but hazarding a guess, since it looks like the paperwork has been approved already. Maybe someone out there has a more informed opinion-

Good! That right turn signal on the DC has been blinking for some time!

I was told that they run 24hrs a day, meaning they should unload tonight. I was also told that they are open for Veteran's day. The rest of the military is off but I get to go in and fight terror.

My MA said he hopes for a monday delivery to Vegas....right

Well I sure hope you get yours faster than me. I still am waiting patiently. It will be 2 weeks this Friday that my car has been on US soil. I sure hope I get a call today because I will leave work to get it.

With so many getting their cars 'late' I am starting to wonder if the VDC is shorthanded. Maybe due to the economy and slow sales they have layed some people off at VDC. Sure seems a long turnaround to get cars to the dealers once they have been unloaded.

I just checked my dealers website, and my car is listed in their available inventory, same VIN and everything. Is that normal?

I hope so too! My MA just contacted me and said my car will be done with the pre-delivery inspection today, but wanted to know if I can pick it up Friday or Saturday so they have time to put the clear mask on. I said nope. I want it now. I'll wait for the clear mask next week. hehe I just can't wait any longer, besides, I really want to clay my car and remove any shipping contaminants before they put something clear over it.

Probably. Likely just an automated process. Shouldn't mean that your car is literally "available", other than to you. Get on over and pick her up, and get some pics posted ASAP! Congrats!

I think 2 weeks is pretty normal considering that mine took 8 days even if my dealer is only 2 hours away from the port...

All right! About time! Just take a breath before you leave the dealer... let's be careful out there!

Congratulations MINIDean!

I have to wait one more day. This time it's on me. My car is waiting at the dealership for me to come get it, but due to the banks being closed for Veterans Day, I have to wait until tomorrow. Stupid banks.

Really? Oh man! I'm taking advantage of MINI's 2.9%, so yay! You should do that, unless you're paying cash and need a cashier's check. I just can't wait anymore. I had a dream last night about the H/K stereo. Sick, I know. LOL

This is a lesson to sell the current car early. The person buying my Ford Focus needs her loan to be finalized which was supposed to happen today, but the banks are closed. I can buy the Mini today, but if I wait until I have the money from the Focus for an additional down payment then my monthly payments are significantly less, but otherwise, yes I'm taking advantage of that great 2.9% APR.

So, here's the lesson to anyone waiting for their cars to arrive, if you aren't trading a car in, sell it early! Otherwise you have to wait and wait and wait!

On the flip side, we sold my wifes car when we ordered hers and it sold the first weekend we advertised it. We didn't think it would sell that fast and we have had only our truck for the past 2 months...oh well

That's why I waited, so I wouldn't be carless. I've waited for 9 weeks and 2 day (but who's counting) so I guess I can wait another couple of days, right?
