Well the car came in this morning, I called the manager around 1:30 pm and he said OH your car came in this morning. We think we can have it ready by late Tuesday. So let's keep our fingers crossed.

Consider my fingers crossed! Course there could always be an earthquake or something to screw things up Sheesh. What a wait!

I hope my MA is better at having correct information than some of the others out there...Fiona is supposed to be at the dealer Thursday!!!! Already approved for the 2.9% so I guess we're ready to rock and roll.

When we get her it will be sans stripes...need to get her over to get her first bra and then have the stripes installed.

Meanwhile
Alright! I hope Fiona is there Thursday. It will be less of a wait than me! I'll be there Wednesday dropping Tüi off for his nose mask. I'm sure I'll be there all-day-long, so if by chance I see a truck a day earlier (hehe) I'll let you know!

So Tui is going Zorro on us Wednesday, huh

Yeah...let me know if you see something, you never know!!!

I figure they may have been pushing them out a little faster off DC since Tarifa was docking 3 days later.

Strangely calm...

Well, I've been told my Clubbie (new name, subject to revision: Harper) was dropped off yesterday afternoon at the dealer. So I'm off to do a little last minute negotiating today, and then will pick up tomorrow (assuming the negotiating goes well!) during daylight hours.

After a nearly 10 week wait, I'm strangely calm. Maybe apprehensive after all the delivery issues that have gone on with our Week 40 group...I'll believe it when I really see it.

Wish me luck!

Jay

I got my JCW,it's great!!! They had to reorder the E brake handle, the JCW one they got was lose when they installed it. And they ordered the wrong cover,so the new one will come on Friday. I will take some photos on Thursday and post them on Friday. I hope the rest of you week 40 people get your cars soon.

Ron, so, so happy to see you finally got your JCW!!!

Sriracha will be getting his third tank of gas today and I'm approaching the 750 mile mark on the odometer. Still loving every MINUTE of this car.

I got my first emphatic MINI wave the weekend after I picked Sriracha up. I'd been waving at other motorers with mixed results, but when I took Sriracha back to my hometown to show off to my dad, there was a Chili Red S coming my way in the opposite lane. I thought the driver was going to come out of her seat waving furiously at Racha and me!

As a final post to the Week 40 Support thread, I have a recommendation for a road or two ( for those of us who live in the San Diego area) that will allow a full appreciation of the Mini Cooper's handling characterstics . Old Castle Road (Lilac Rd.) from I15 to Valley Center is an obvious choice ...it's just freeway minutes from Brecht. It looks like you 're driving in a car commercial. This eventully gets you to Valley Center. A left turn will take you to Valley View where you will find the road that really did it for me. Lake Wohlford Rd. This is the road that goes from the Valley View Casino past Lake Wohlford and ends up connecting to Valley Center Road just outside of Escondido. Even with break-in limited operation, this road answered any question I might have had about the road handling characteristics of the Mini Cooper. The term "go cart" handling is frequently used but doesn't really adequately describe the experience. The go carts I've driven don't corner as smoothly or as effortlessly and they sure don't accelerate and brake like the Mini.

This driving experience completed my need for Week 40 Support.

I'll see you in other threads.

BTW... After my first fill-up the computer said I averaged 33MPG!

Just got off the phone with my MA and Fiona is in town. She needs to do a little primping to get ready for her first time out so it will be either tomorrow or Friday afternoon for picking her up.

Motoring at last!

Well! Picked up my new Clubbie this morning (after some last minute negotiations yesterday [thanks Jere!], which were successful and got me to a slightly more pleasant bottom line) and I've been just amazed! Such fun, and, as reported elsewhere, the H/K system is remarkable. Just stunning bass with bright clear highs.

Only problem I'm having is my phone is completely wonking out –bluetooth connects but after connecting to the MINI the phone continuously reboots itself ad infinitum. Finally had to disable the connection to get the phone to work solo. But if that's all I have to complain about, I am one happy guy! What a magnificently engineered automobile.

Of course, I, too, forgot to bring the camera. Will post pics when I can.

You folks in Colorado will be motoring soon!

Jay

All,

I got my Mini today. Took a little longer than expected, 3 hours, but I have it. Being pepper white there are some dark spots they call "Rail Dust" on the car near the fenders. They said that I need to bring it back to have it "Clay barred", I guess buffed out. Other than that I love it. I tried to dial a number by saying Dial Ashley and the car pretyy much told me I was stupid. I will figure out how to call eventually. it will dial numbers like a champ though. The H/K is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ill Post pics Friday or Saturday. I work a lot and those are my days off this week.

Care to share for those of us that have not negotiated the deal? Any tips?
