The only problem would be I would have to take the car back next week to have all of the JCW accessories installed. They do not install on the weekends.
But in the back of my mind I had a feeling this time line was not to be. Well my MA just called and said the car did not show up!!! He has never had a car take longer than same day or next morning. (Remember from Ventura to Long Beach even in traffic is 2. hours or so). I told him to call the trucking Company and get an update. He said they place all of the cars in line to load on the trucks and only work one way. My problem with the way that this delivery process works (or does not work) is there is no sense of urgency at all. It is like yes we know you bought one of our cars, so you will just have to sit back and wait your turn no mater how log it may take!
So now we are looking at Monday or Tuesday or well you get the idea. However I will at least be able to have every thing installed during the week so I will not have to go back.
PS: Dean your photos and car are beautiful.
Ron
Here I thought I'd be the last one on this thread to get their car....maybe not. I just cannot believe how long it is taking for some of you (Ron specifically) to take delivery of your cars. But like Dean says...in the long run it will all be worth it!!!

And what happened to PhebeGirl????

Im still waiting on my car. The owners lounge says estimated delivery on 17 Nov. Not sure if that means that it will be delivered to the dealer that day or my chance to drive it like I stole it? My car has to get to Vegas...

I haven't called but OL still says enroute...I was thinking ours might be on the same truck with them dropping yours off on the way to CO.

So just called ask mini and they say it is still at the port awaiting a ship. Also just checked OL and it finally says at VDC.

I talked to my MA and her said it was due into them 17 nov. I was hoping that it would be delivered by that day. He did say that it was possible for it to come in a day early but I doubt it. Either way I am sure it will sometime next week. He told me it would take about 3 hours to prep....

On a good note I don't have to go to work until 2pm. Mon-Thurs next week and I am off Friday. That being said, Friday will be the standby day to pick up.

Sounds like you're all set for pickup and delivery. Hope ours is on the same truck. At least I think we will be getting ours before turkey day.

So I put my winter tires on today and I'm pissed off. Basically, I bought on Ebay a set of Bridge Spoke wheels that specifically said in the ad the wheels were taken off with nothing touched and included the TPMS sensors. I had the factory performance tires taken off and my winter tires put on. I went into the NAV screen to the vehicle settings and selected Reset TPM. I drove for 30 minutes while the NAV screen said "TPM Resetting", then I get a gong sound and a message on the NAV screen that said "TPM System Failure!". I was like WTF? I tried again, another 30 minutes driving and same message.

I put one of my Flame Spoke wheels back on and the system immediately detected it. So one of three things is happening. A) The wheels I bought never had TPM sensors and the tire place I had swap them out didn't tell me. B) The wheels did have the TPM sensors but the tire place took them out and "stole" them. Or C) The 2010 TPM system does not detect 09' and earlier sensors.

Now I have to go to the tire place, ask them if the TPM sensor were in there or have them remove a tire and show me. This is irritating because now I have to look at a yellow flat tire warning on the NAV screen. Ugh!

Just venting...Sorry!

I think I saw something on one of the other threads that said the 2010 sensors were different this year and previous sensors would not work. I'll see if I can find that thread again...

Thanks kalililly! This really bums me out. I wonder how much these are going to set me back. Well, I freaked out a little. I thought I broke my new car! hehe

I'm gonna have to order some new sensors. Leave it to another 10' change. It's OK. I get the message on the NAV "TPM System Failure!" like it's yelling at me. haha Then the flat tire light flashes for about 1 minutes then turns solid yellow. I'll have to deal with it for a little while.

MiniDean, it was me that posted about the TPMS change for 2010s. I had to learn the hard way, so I was trying to help future 2010ers avoid the problems I dealt with.

You're right, any sensors prior to a 09/09 build do not talk to the car. So I had to pull my sensors from my stock wheels and stick them in my Rotas. When I had the swap done, they definately are different even in appearance.

Fortunately, Alex from Tire Rack took back the sensors I bought for my Rotas, but it was a Real PITA to deal with it, not to mention an additional $30.00 at the dealer to tell me the sensors weren't talking to the car, and $86.00 out of my pocket to swap everything over.

I'm glad kalililly directed me to your post. I was going to search there and got busy. Sorry you had to find it the hard way and if I hadn't seen your post I would have done the same thing. I need to keep my factory ones in my 17's. No need to dismount then remount after the season is over just to get the sensors out.

It really surprised me at first they didn't take (the car reading the sensors). Well, I'll have a set of TPM sensors for sale soon. hehe

Well, after the long wait last week for my buyer of my current car to get her loan finalized, on Friday she found out it wasn't going through. So, now I'm back to square one. Listed the car on three websites yesterday and today to try to sell it but not one bite so far.

I was near my Mini dealer yesterday and so I drove by and tried to see my car on the lot. I didn't find it, but it was dark and the dealership was closed.

This is taking so much longer than I thought. Anybody want a 2003 Ford Focus ZX5?

Driving that 2010 Mini Cooper will be SO MUCH SWEETER when it finally happens.

So sorry to hear about your Focus deal falling through. Hope you sell it quickly so you can get your Mini. If all else fails, I guess there could always be a trade.

Good luck!!!!!!

I got my car...

In an attempt to be sensitive to those who may not yet have their cars, I am going to write the following report about my car emphasizing (or even inventing) negative things.
I went to Brecht Mini on Saturday to pick up the car. They had a white Mini inside the showroom that was supossed to be mine. After carefully inspecting this car I found a speck of Cosmoline that they proably thought I wouldn't see. Well...I saw it and flicked it off. When my MA said "What?" I tried to show him but ...I couldn't find it because it was gone and there wasn't any more. I couldn't find anything else wrong with the car. Everything I had ordered was there and working perfectly. We took it for a drive around the block to find out what other problems I could find. Just as I figured...it drove like a dream. There wasn't anything wrong at at all. Comfort Access...Key fob in pocket...touch start button...actually better than what I had been led to believe. You don't have to press and hold the Start button. You just press it one time. The auto A/C...perfect. I knew I was going to have trouble these guys. There was this smell too. They probably used a whole can of that "new car smell" spray. SO...I signed the papers and Rod got me some "free" mats.

When I got home I tried the last thing I could think of to find something to be angry about. I put CD in the stereo and cranked it up. Yep...this isn't the old hifi upgrade. This H/K system rocks out. Clear crisp and loud. Deep bass. Volume automatically adjusts with speed of car to counter road noise.

How does it drive? I found that it handles the way you wished a car would handle. It goes wherever you point it. No body roll...no oozing around curves. It is no where near being broken in yet but on several occasions (like on the freeway varying my speed) there would be cars behind me that started to tailgate me rather than change to any of the other 4 lanes available to them. In the interest of safety I had to briefly accelerate. No more tailgating impatient driver behind me. Yow! Even under 4000 rpm, this car is really, really quick.

Final initial impression is that I seem to have gotten a 2010 MCS that has no apparent defects. It performs much better than I expected. It iseems to be perfect.

Regard my last post...

Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding...I was being mildly ironic/sarcastic in my last post about getting the car. In another thread I posted a link to the Insurance Safety Institues's video of a cool crash test. A modern car vs a 50 year old car. I wrote the post from the viewpoint of an old timer who doesn't believe in modern technology like air bags and crash zones and modern materials etc. I got an angry response from somebody who didn't get it. In the video the 1959 car just dissolves when it crashes into the (smaller) 2009 car. So...in case anyone doesn't get it...my car is absolutely perfect. Not even a minor flaw. It exceeds my expectations by at least 500%. There was a minute speck of wax that I found but that was it.

I will admit that four or five times I have "reached for the keys" as I got ready to turn off the engine and get out of the car. Comfort Access. No keys! No fob! Push the button one time. I start laughing every time I do it.
I don't own a digital camera so I don't have beautiful pictures. I'll try to take some with my cell phone.<img>

I'll try to use the cell phone. My buddy has a nice digital camera but he's at the Charger's game today.

I have a Nikon but it uses...what was that stuff called...oh yeah..."film". Do they still make and/or process "film"? <In fact...They do not make Kodachrome any longer and I believe the only place that processes it is about to or has stopped.>

I suspect you'll get your car very soon. The VDC apparently whipped mine through and down to San Diego faster than I figured. The big hold-up seems to be VDC installed options.
In any case, it is totally worth the wait.

Port installed options!!! I wish I had never thought about them. And the trucking people don't seem to give a S---- either. They have had my car since last Friday. Now I am told maybe Monday or Tuesday!!

I said to my MA will I have the car before Thanksgiving?,he said I hope so.
I will call the manager on Monday and insist he call the trucking CO. I do not understand what the hell is taking so long. The dealer attitude is we have no control of these people. Well maybe they should.
At this point this is no longer any fun, I am not even looking forward to this car any more. I am about four steps beyond livid.
Ron

Ron - I know I can't say anything that would help...just doesn't make any sense. 16 days and cars from a subsequent ship are being delivered already...I don't blame you for being 'four steps beyond livid', I would be too!!!

The wife went out of town the same week the car showed up. 'Daddy Duty' has been keeping me busy

I took delivery on Friday the 13th , which may sound bad to some, but has always been a lucky day for me

Fortunately the freezing rain and hail that evening didn't do any damage.

It's everything I wanted it to be, plus a little more, and the HK sounds brilliant. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get it washed again!

It was worth the wait.

Alright, since I started this thread, I guess I can change the topic...

I believe it's in the Internet Bulletin Board code of ethics.

Anyways...Since getting our convertible, we've managed to rack up nearly 400 miles with over 8.5 hours of open air motoring.

And by the way...that "hill assist" thing works nicely.

For those still waiting, Hang in there...it's worth the wait.

And to all my fellow owners, Motor On!

Man this is fun!

Hey Johnny - glad to hear you're having so much fun Still like the HK?...can't wait!!!!

I hope my MA is better at having correct information than some of the others out there...Fiona is supposed to be at the dealer Thursday!!!! Already approved for the 2.9% so I guess we're ready to rock and roll.

When we get her it will be sans stripes...need to get her over to get her first bra and then have the stripes installed.

Meanwhile
