19 miles an hour over....Shoot. That's gonna cost you almost a 1/2 a car payment.

Well, I got pulled over too for "rolling" through a stop sign at 1am a few weeks ago. I got off with a warning mainly because my car had temp plates and the officer didn't want to deal with it. Thank goodness!

So I registered Tui today. OMG. $755.91 for one year. Is the state of CO really that poor?!?! That's two car payments for me. Ugh.

Can't complain too much. I have 2600 miles on him and was maintaining 130mph with a Porsche Sunday on my way to Denver. When we slowed down, he looked over at me and smiled in disbelief. What? You thought that hot little black MINI couldn''t keep up with you? hahahaha

He I just got my "Field Kit" Cool stuff in side. I put the pin in my owners manual pouch. And keeped the rest of the kit on the self with my car paraphernalia. The car is going well, just over 1000 miles. MPG is around 24-26 mpg in town. I am now able to drive the car more aggressively and have fun.

I just rolled 3000 miles on my cooper s. I am averaging 34.1 mpg's. I do drive about 85 miles round trip a day to work though. I am having door rattles from the Harmon Kardon system. I like to crank it up loud. I have the brushed aluminum and when I press on it with the slightest preassure it goes away. Other than that it is a dream to drive. I need to post some pictures.

No field kit yet here, but I did get a Mini magazine which came with a cool little Mini shaped paper clip. My dealer had a "Mini New Owner's Night" last night and I got thumb drive. They said they were giving them to all new owners when they took posession of their car. Two month later isn't bad, right?

Loving my Oxygen Blue Mini, named her Winnie the Mini Cooper.

Just did the 2nd break-in oil change at 1036 miles, now I can go on a more regular schedule. Loving every minute of Fiona. Averaging a little over 31 mpg. No issues at all so far. Hope everyone are enjoying their cars...

It has been such a long time. Just wanted to check in with everyone and see how things have been. I still have not received my field kit. I guess I don't get one.

Tui has been great. I have 5100 miles on him now and not a problem, rattle or anything wrong with him. Just did the first oil change this past weekend. Pretty easy for the most part.

Tui's only battle wound(s) is a pretty pitted windshield and a crack on it already. The damn rocks on the Colorado roads here. It really pisses me off. Thank goodness for the clear mask.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Hi, I have 2800 miles on it now. I am enjoying every moment. No rattles, no problems at all. I have been averaging 31 MPG overall, which I am really happy about. I go up to 37 MPG on the freeway easily.
One thing I noticed, whenever I see another Cooper on the freeway, I tend to pace with them. I like checking out other Minis on the road...

Agreement all around...

Yup, yup, yup, and yup!
Have about 4000 miles in, and no issues whatsoever (knock on wood!). At least once a day on my long commute, I say to myself what a blast I'm having driving. Needless to say, that didn't happen very often pre-MINI!

Taking a long road trip in June, and can't wait to get started.

I think we must have gotten in on a very good week at the Oxford factory!

3100 miles here. I dumped the runflats the first week I had the car, and upgraded the suspension shortly thereafter with an H&R Touring Cup kit. HUGE improvement from each change. The stock setup is truly horrible. My car now sits lower, handles better, and rides FAR more comfortably than on the crappy stock setup, which features relatively stiff springs mated to really soft crummy shocks - a compromise no doubt engineered to attempt to soften the bone-jarring effects of the runflats. Yuck.

No real problems with the car yet, other than a buzz in a speaker yesterday that seems gone today, and some rattling in the hatch area that just started intermittently. Hopefully these aren't indications of more cacophony to come.

5200 miles of pure fun. The wife still gets to drive it most days, but on the weekends...I open her up in the Texas Hill Country.

Zooming up and down the hills and zipping throught the curves in the MINI is so much more fun than the dull trips in my 4x4.

I sure hope everyone is doing well. Seems that since we got our cars, the web has taken a back seat.

Happy Motoring!

Hi Johnny, just a little over 5k here also. Just changed the oil and rotated the tires. By the way, highly recommend rotating early. Could definitely see a difference between the front wear versus the rear wear.

People ask how I like our Mini and I always have to tell them that she is the best little car I have ever owned. So much fun to drive but can also run errands in her...unless we have to pick up something large, but that is what the truck is for.

Good hearing from you and, like you, hope everyone is doing well!!!

I'm about to hit 11k miles on my baby. Just got back from a road trip in far northern New England: 3 days, 7 states, 1200 miles. Clive was rockin' the entire way.

What's amazing is that we managed to pack our travel bags, then come home with a 42" carved wooden bear (tucked under the windscreen), an antique lit bar sign and other goodies we found at an antique auction. That MINI sure can hold a lot of stuff

Lesson learned: take a LOT of sunscreen for that long of a trip with the top down...and if you're a man going a little thin on top, a hat

'Racha has just over 7200 miles on him now, and I've loved every one, even the ones sitting in traffic! I still get a lot of looks from other cars, though not as many MINI waves as I'd like. I always wave, in spite of that. I'm still just so thrilled to be behind the wheel of this little guy and I want to share that.

No real problems to speak of, though I did end up with a flat tire. Somehow I picked up a rivet somewhere in our post-winter road construction. Thankfully I had the tire/wheel coverage, so it didn't cost me a dime! The local dealership doesn't keep my tires in stock, so I had to wait a couple of days for the tire to be ordered, but other than that it was completely smooth.

I also haven't had the greatest experience with the MINI iPhone adapter, but since I just upgraded to the iPhone 4, I'll have to track down a new adapter anyway. I hope that whatever new cable becomes available is a little less flaky, because it's a shame to have my amazing HK stereo compromised by a spastic cable.

I almost get annoyed when other MINI owners don't wave back. I mean really. Why did you buy the car anyways. They should be forced to sell it to someone who appreciates the MINI lifestyle.

Well 3 months after my last post I now have 10,500 miles on Tui, mainly because I have moved back to Calfornia. I have a set of snow tires I need to unload now with the new TPMS sensors. Guess I'll have to wait until the winter to get some good bites

I'm still loving my car. Not one problem whatsoever. He's been through Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and now California. Swapped the summer tires back on just before the move. Oh, and like to mention it cost me $2000.00 to register my car in CA because they have a use tax law on cars less than a year old. They charged me tax AGAIN because I moved here and only gave me credit for 2.9% of the 7.4% I paid in CO. I'm writing a nasty letter now to the state for a partial refund, but we'll see how that goes.

Next on the list is JCW Kit and some viper stripes. Not much else to do to the car. Next road trip is this weekend to San Diego. Can't wait!

The MINI is almost a full year old. Still just barely over 8000 miles. My wife is babying it a bit too much. Got a call from MINI in regards to a survey I filled out a while back. I mentioned that it was difficult to shift into Reverse. They called 20 times before catching me at home. They wanted to make sure I had gotten it taken care of. Persistent.

Just thought I would revisit the old thread and re-live the experience of my MINI making the journey to the good ol' USA.

Happy Birthday!

Tomorrow is 'Racha's one-year adoption anniversary. Gonna have to get him a little present to commemorate it.

He's just about to hit 12,500 miles and the only "problem" I've had to speak of is that my iPhone adapter has never really worked all that great. It's been flaky on getting a good audio connection ever since day 1, but then I picked up an iPhone 4, which doesn't support the adapter that came with 'Racha anyway. Maybe I can ask the dealership about a different one when I take 'Racha in for his one-year checkup.

'Racha also had that little run-in with a rivet in his tire, but BMW/MINI of Nashville took care of that promptly and efficiently and everything was covered by my tire warranty.

It's hard to believe it's been a year already; the time WITH Racha has flown so, so much faster than the time waiting for him did.

Just under 1. year. And around 5200 miles on my JCW. Not much to report on except, once and a while after the car sits after being driven. When I restart, I get a yellow Brake warning light. After I turn the car off and then restart it goes away. The brake fluid is ok,and the brake pads are good as well. I have called the dealer and Mini USA, and both have no idea of what is going on.
So I will have them look at it on my first service. I get around 24 mpg in town and 34 mpg highway.
Ron
